Valley in San Francisco. I can actually see maggots underneath the plastic near the meat i was selling inside the case. Reporter the meat clerk says he was shown the maggots in the case when he arrived at work monday afternoon. And there were more than 40 of them. It was pretty bad. Reporter the San Francisco Health Department tells kron4 news that whole foods told them all that was found was one dead maggot. It was not in contact with the meat and the case was cleaned monday, tuesday and friday. The public Health Department says based on that information, they believe there was never a Public Health hazard. Health inspectors were at the market on friday and gave the Meat Department a clean bill of health. You may remember that barack obama and mitt romney during the campaigns said that the scouts could change the policy. There have been very public expulsions of scouts that have caused something of a blowback, but i should also say the individual organizations say this is the wrong thing to do.
