30 minutes into the trading day in the u.s. julie hyman has the latest on the heels of that jobs report. julie: we are seeing stocks pulled back a little bit this morning. initially, looked like a goldilocks report. enough material in there to allow the fed to raise rates before year end. now, turning a bit more negative. the headline number coming in below estimates with a read of 156,000 versus the 170,000 that was estimated. this number historically has been revised higher in five of the past seven septembers. to keep in mind as we watch the action today. in other asset classes, we are seeing a bit better behavior on the shorter end of the than the longer. with thethe curve here yield on the two-year going down just a basis point. if you look at the u.s. dollar, we are seeing some small declines there. even though much of the commentary this morning said that that is still on pace to raise by years end, that s not what s being reflected in the thatmarket and currency rates

its strength as a category three at 120 miles per hour wind. you can see how the eye is filled in with rainfall? i would not be surprised with the next update if we see it is weakening but the track will take it in a loop and the storm could move back to florida in the middle of next week. we have seen a lot of video from florida all original and winds have been pounding the coast all night. this is daytona beach,ed if, outages, and downed frees and damaged homes and buildings part of the devastation. evacuation orders are in place for three million. the effects are unlike any hurricane we have seen in decades and could become uninhabitable for weeks or months. 300,000 are without power right new. those are remaining in the pat are ordered to shelter-in-place now. we are all scared and think we will okay but.nobody knows. i have been through all of the storms grow up and this is just another one. looking ahead to november election, and florida is a big swing state and
going on with hurricane matthew for the folks in florida. good morning. weakening slightly overnight, and this video just in from near daytona beach, as the outer bands of hurricane matthew bringing hurricane-force wind gusts across the florida coast. and offshore, we ve been seeing some wind gusts up above 120 miles per hour. and there s a live view, as the heavy rain and storm surge now begins to approach at the center, just about 50 miles offshore. the latest that we have on the storm. you can see the center there just off the coast of cape canaveral, florida, where all the locket rocket launches and space-x, of course, launching there from merit island. you can see how the outer bands and the eye wall itself brushing just across cape canaveral there in florida. moving off to the north and west around daytona beach. heading into the afternoon, the threat begins to shift off to the north around jacksonville. you can see the storm center very close to the coastline there,
path for days. we ve been seeing south florida areas, south of west palm beach now, over the danger zone, but we ve been seeing the storm, with an eye wall about 50 miles wide, category 3 sustained wind of 120 miles per hour. again, slowly approaching the coast now. as you can see here, right off the coast of cape canaveral, florida, and the outer eye wall approaching merit island, cape canaveral, winds sustained anywhere from 60 to 88 miles per hour, closer to the eye itself. that s where the hurricane hunter aircraft still detecting wind speeds up to 120 miles per hour. a category 3 storm. these areas up to jacksonville today will see not only the intense winds and heavy rain, but storm surge as the wall of water kind of gets pushed inland from the coast. could be assi high as 7 to 10 ft locally across the northern coast of the atlantic coast there of florida, as we head through the afternoon. back to you. rob, thank you. those are the conditions that we re watching rig

you about around the area starting in oakland. northbound 880 between oak street and 980 and then northbound 880 again between davis street and 98th. now let s head over to hayward/fremont. that roadwork on 880 in both directions between mission and whipple. now to the south bay morgan hill area, between dunne avenue and blossom hill road, all this roadwork should be cleared up around 5 a.m. hurricane matthew is pounding parts of florida this morning and it s on the move. it was downgraded to a category 3 storm overnight. but it s bringing winds up to 120 miles per hour offshore. forecasters say upwards of 500 miles of coastline could be impacted by the storm. and this is what it looked like along the mr. coast overnight. the wind and rain was so strong you can barely see down the street. storm shutters were ripped off the front of businesses. and thousands of power lines have been knocked out. take a look at the conditions one reporter dealt with just hours ago in daytona
south carolina. that storm is expected to continue up the coast through the weekend. steve joins us with a look at where the storm is. usually a hurricane impacts one area. that is usually winds damage. this is going parallel to the coast which is unusual. now you start to get the continental shelf was gets more shallow going north. that is why they think the storm surge will be a bigger factor. a lot of flooding? yes. the eye of the storm is weakening a little bit but not before 107 mile-per-hour winds office type cape canaveral. it off cape canaveral. it is heading towards daytona beach. watch the bands. that is where you can get the tornadoes. you also get the ocean water piling up. that is a concern along with the 8 to 12 inches of rain. cape canaveral might be on the better side. the wind has shifted. but the eye of the storm has stayed all share. now off shore. the continental shelf drops pretty fast off of florida and then it gets very shallow. georgia coas
