Reporter the meat clerk says he was shown the maggots in the case when he arrived at work monday afternoon. And there were more than 40 of them. It was pretty bad. Reporter the San Francisco Health Department tells kron4 news that whole foods told them all that was found was one dead maggot. It was not in contact with the meat and the case was cleaned monday, tuesday and friday. The public Health Department says based on that information, they believe there was never a Public Health hazard. Health inspectors were at the market on friday and gave the Meat Department a clean bill of health. Public Health Officials tell kron4 news on monday, the entire meat case will be dismantled and cleaned again. On tuesday, the entire Meat Department will be clean. Back to you. New tonight at 8 00, pain to get the homeless out paying to get the homeless out. Thats what the city of albany is doing. Its happening in an area known as the albany bulb. A section of park property on the bay thats been a home to dozens of homeless encampments over the past 20 years. 28 people who have been living there are receiving 3,000 each as part of an agreement to relocate. As our reporter reports, the deadline to leave was this afternoon. Reporter it was a very emotional friday here in albany. The albany bulb as its called is a section of land around a halfmile behind where im standing. A section thats slated to become a state park. Amber witson has lived on the section of land for seven and a half years. She was a plaintiff in the lawsuit against the city but unlike 28 others, she refuses to take 3,000 to leave. She says this has been a community. There are sculptures in an area known as the castle that overlooks San Francisco. The bay bridge and the golden gate bridge. The cause of the crash is still under investigation. New tonight at 8 00, a 71 yearold concord man foils a burglary in his own home. Lester utley suffered bruises in the process. Not from the burglars, but from a fall. He said when he returned to his home at about 11 00 yesterday morning, he found two young men combing through his drawers and belongings before he gave chase. I took off them. One went one way, the other went the other. I chased the guy with the that had the rifle. He figured i would get too close. He dumped everything. He did not enter a plea today. Police say the suspect entered that daly City Medical Center on south gate avenue wednesday afternoon and shot at a doctor. The owner of a gym in sausalito is facing child pornography charges. Police found multiple videos of girls engaging in sexual acts on his computer. The 32yearold san rafael resident is now out on bail. He was at work at the bridgeway gym. He refused comment. Police in sausalito say they were alerted to the illegal download of the child porn by a novato detective. He had the computer set up to check for downloads from ip addresses. Based on the ip address, they obtained a search warrant that led them to the address. Police say that sausalito address belonged to a friend of magner who did not realize the suspect allegedly used their secured Wireless Connection to download the child porn. That friend is not in trouble. Magner faces up to one year in state prison. Hes not been charged. The marin County District Attorneys Office says that they are still reviewing the case. A Good Samaritan on his way to a business meeting yesterday stopped to rescue an elderly man whose car crashed in oakland. There were two people in the overturned vehicle, rancourt rushed over took off his jacket and administered first aid until the paramedics arrived. Two males in the area possibly casing cars. And turns out that the description matches the description of the suspects from the first robbery. Reporter the first robbery at a 7eleven here on south white road. The second on Mount Pleasant road. The suspects last seen jumping backyard fences along mount kenya drive where a manhunt ensues. In another video, this one from a camera at the campos family home, one of the gunmen is seen briefly hiding in the garage moments before a police car passes by. School officials will not say how many students were contacted nor whether any of them responded. The official death toll has reached 150 in the south korean ferry disaster. More than 100 people are still missing, though, as the divers go through the sunken hull in the yellow sea. Heres more. Reporter seven crew members have been arrested. Among them a 25yearold woman who was at the helm of the ferry. She reportedly told investigators i made mistakes but for some reason, the steering turned so fup faster than usual.
