One officer spotted the shooter and opened fire. Reporter Vincente Montano had been arrested once before. The individual had an arrest in 2004 for assault and resisting arrest. Reporter the 29yearold had a history of significant psychiatric issue. His mother says he was a diagnosed schizophrenic. He showed up here armed with a pellet gun and a hatchet. Me also had on a surgical mask, possibly to protect himself from the pupper spray. He was shot and killed by the s. W. A. T. Team. Authorities later detonated one of the backpacks he was carrying.
