The swimmer was in distress around 7 30, an hour and half after the life guards were done for the day, but they were back with the Monmouth County and state teams. They had to call off the search at 10 30 last night, and at this point the prospects are grim. Its been a rough week off the shore. Dangerous rip currents have kept the life guards busy rescuers swimmers while offduty and on duty. Two swimmers were rescued from jacob riis beach and two people died over the weekend on long island.
