Peter strauss, hiedi peterson, rowen, cindy baker, jordan wang. Welcome back. Good afternoon. Peter strauss on the board of San Francisco transit riders. Ive also been working on this for eight years. I hate to not be part of the chorus but we have a number of concerns, however, we do fully support the traffic changes and very much look forward to the quick build. We also support the separated bike lanes. However, we have a number of physical concerns primarily related to stops. We note that with respect to accessibility it only creates full accessibility by removing. Take your hand off the mic. Sorry. It only provides full accessibility by removing all of the non accessible stops. Were very concerned about the half mile spacing. According to the data provided by staff, speed still remain only seven and a half Miles Per Hour or so and and seven miles an hour or so and travel savings are only one or two minutes which we dont feel justified the removal of all those stops. Thank you. If y
One thing were careful about is maintaining commercial look access so loading can occur on Market Street but we want to minimize conflicts with people biking on that sidewalk level bike lane. With the bike way, we determined that its best if we retain the loading bays concept like we have today where theres designated loading spaces on each block but weve brought it up onto the sidewalk and created a flex zone and theres a Cross Section and this space is 16 feet wide and leaves enough space for commercial vehicles to get up onto the sidewalk on a onefoot curb. The commercial vehicles can pull over to the side and theres enough space for us to maintain a clear space to be bikes to get around the commercial vehicles. We want to minimize the times we have commercial vehicles crossing the bike space. And so were pairing this design with commercial loading restrictions. So the morning when bikes are going downtown we have no loading on the south side of the street and similarly in the eveni

Public comment testimony that are not solid facts. This body transitions. Supervisor yee will no longer be the supervisor. Things get lost. I want to go on the record early. I believe avalon bay will create a lot of problems for us, those of us who have relationships in labor. Many times our labor partners have come raising concerns that they havent hired union labor to do the job. Im talking something that is years down the line. But i just think that that funding that this is just not the right direction we need to go in and we need to reevaluate. Supervisor yee did a great job getting city college free. And now we have all these people that want to go there. We need to be mindful and respectful of the people who have been living around the college for generations. And weve heard from our citizens advisory commission, a policy body used to advise us. They are against it. I dont know anybody in support of this other than the Police Department Planning Department. Im going to be voting
Cohen. Supervisor cohen thank you. I walked in today to support this. Im thinking im going to be voting no on this. I am uncomfortable on many fronts. I think we need more parking. I think we need to provide more infrastructure for the college. I think there needs to be more Due Diligence. I think its curious we dont have any stakeholders to talk about this from city college. I personally have experience with avalon bay, the very difficult development company. We will have problems with them. This is just like the beginning, yes. Its a study. But thats how things start. And thats how development happens in this city. It starts with a study and then we build from that point on and on, developing facts that as you heard earlier from some of our Public Comment testimony that are not solid facts. This body transitions. Supervisor yee will no longer be the supervisor. Things get lost. I want to go on the record early. I believe avalon bay will create a lot of problems for us, those of us wh
