the police officer chased mr. scott on foot. that north charleston policeman fired eight shots as he pursued walter scott across a grassy lot in charleston. he was shot multiple times and died of his injuries. the officer s attorney told the local paper that the officer used his taser on mr. scott in this encounter, but that it had not subdued him. walter scott tried to overpower the officer and take his taser away from him. the attorney said the officer felt threatened and that he followed all proper procedures before firing his gun eight times at walter scott. that was the news as of yesterday in south carolina. he was as of yesterday. things changed late today when we got another side of the story. turns out there was a cell phone video taken by a bystander of what happened. the attorney of the family of walter scott got a copy of the video and gave it to the new york times and they published it late today. i m not going to play the video over and over again. it shows
