ANPSA units conduct literary competitions

Dimapur, Aug. 28 (EMN): Dimapur unit of the All Nagaland Private Schools’ Association (ANPSA) organised a district level literary competitions (quiz and extempore speech) on August 26. An update from ANPSA stated that more than 700 students, teacher representatives and board members from 18 schools have participated in the competition. It stated that Rev. Fr. Philip Y, principal of Holy Cross Higher Secondary School, delivered the welcome address as convenor, while Neena Dutta, ANPSA treasurer and principal of St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School, Dimapur, delivered the vote of thanks. In the quiz competition, Manchem Chang and Shahida Sultana from St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School secured the first position, while Elijah Ronren Kikon and Debashree Hazarika from Pilgrim Higher Secondary School, secured the second position. Student from Nagaland excels at ISRO programme

Dimapur, June 9 (EMN): Khuto Chishi, a class 9 student of Pilgrim Higher Secondary School at Kuda-B, Dimapur, won the first prize in a project work at the “Yuva Vigyani Karyakram” (YUVIKA) or “Young Scientist Programme,” organised by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) held from May 16 to the 28th. Khuto Chishi was the only student selected from Nagaland to take part along with the 150 selected students across the country. He received a citation, participation certificate, a tablet and study materials for his project work, an update from the school stated. ISRO organised a special programme ‘YUVIKA’ for school children to impart basic knowledge on space technology, space science and space applications to young students, especially for those from rural areas. Nagaland Zoological Park observes World Turtle Day

Dimapur, May 25 (EMN): Nagaland Zoological Park (NZP) and Turtle Survival Alliance India (TSA India) celebrated World Turtle Day while aiming to promote education on turtles at NZP auditorium on May 25. As a part of the celebration, an exposure visit to the zoo’s Asian Giant Tortoise enclosure was held followed by an open quiz. NZP invited 70 students and faculties from four different schools, namely Eden Higher Secondary School, Westside School, Pilgrim Higher Secondary School and Logdrum Higher Secondary School and five people from a nature club named Eco Warriors, Nagaland to participate in the activities.
