Dimapur, Oct. 31 (EMN): A three-day training of trainers (ToT) for district ASHA trainers comprising of district community mobilisers (DCM) and block ASHA coordinator (BAC), organised by National Health Mission (NHM), was held from October 26 to the 28th at DUDA Guest House in Kohima. An update from NHM stated that the inaugural programme was graced by Dr. Thorhusie Katiry, NHM mission director; Dr. Mereninla Senlem, NHM state programme officer; and Dr. Tinurenla Anichari, NHM deputy director. It stated that both Dr. Thorhusie Katiry and Dr. Mereninla Senlem have encouraged the trainees to proactively participate and learn as much as possible so that they could, in turn, provide effective training to the ASHA at the block levels. Dimapur, Sep. 19 (EMN): A launching programme for Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan – Ni- Kshay 2.0 ‘A digital platform for community support for the persons with TB’ was held at Raj Bhavan, Kohima, on Monday. An update stated that Commissioner & Secretary to Governor, T Mhabemo Yanthan, in his address said the national programme is a platform for community support to the needy people. Dimapur, Aug. 26 (EMN): A team of ten officials from the National Viral Hepatitis Control Programme (NVHCP) under National Health Mission, ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), led by its deputy commissioner, Dr. Sandhya Kabra, physically visited every district of Nagaland to address the growing hepatitis epidemic from August 21 to the 25th. With the growing threat of hepatitis C cases among high risk groups in particular besides hepatitis B morbidity, the state as well as the centre have the responsibility to address the issue and minimise the consequences of liver cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma in consonance with the SDG goal to eliminate hepatitis by 2030, stated a DIPR report. Dimapur, Aug. 19 (EMN): National Health Mission (NHM), in collaboration with Axis Bank Limited, Kohima branch, conducted a two-day orientation training on fund disbursement and management solution (FDMS) on August 17 and 18 in the conference hall of the chief medical officer (CMO) in Kohima. The training was held in line with the Ministry of Finance’s office memorandum on ‘Procedure for release of funds under centrally sponsored scheme (CSS) and monitoring utilisation of funds released,’ stated an update from the Health department. It added that the FDMS would be used as a tool for effective fund management and bring more efficiency in disbursement to NHM schemes at various agency level. Dimapur, Aug. 11 (EMN): Team of officials from the department of Health and Family Welfare led by the principal director, Dr. K Vikato Kinimi, inspected the ongoing works of the new medical college site at Phriebagie in Kohima on August 11. An update from the department stated that on inspection of the site, Dr. Kinimi insisted that there should be no excuses on the progress of the ongoing project, adding that work must be completed within the timeframe. He felt that it has now become a matter of utmost urgency and need of the state to have a fully functional medical college by 2023-2024. Simultaneously, the team held a review meeting with all the contractors and officers present and directed them to complete all the pending works within the stipulated timeline and to conduct timely monitoring of the process.
