Dimapur, May 25 (EMN): Nagaland Zoological Park (NZP) and Turtle Survival Alliance India (TSA India) celebrated World Turtle Day while aiming to promote education on turtles at NZP auditorium on May 25. As a part of the celebration, an exposure visit to the zoo’s Asian Giant Tortoise enclosure was held followed by an open quiz. NZP invited 70 students and faculties from four different schools, namely Eden Higher Secondary School, Westside School, Pilgrim Higher Secondary School and Logdrum Higher Secondary School and five people from a nature club named Eco Warriors, Nagaland to participate in the activities. Winners were awarded and all the participants were encouraged with certificates. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. C Zupeni Tsanglai, Director, NZP who addressed the audience on the importance and purpose of World Turtle Day celebration. PARIS, France, August 3, 2021 (ENS) – Sheltering endangered animals, birds and butterflies, giant trees, pristine waters – five natural sites are so precious to the world that they deserve the protection of World Heritage status, the UNESCO World Heritage Committee has decided. The five are now on the list, bringing the number of World Heritage natural sites to 218.
During its two-week-long 44th session that concluded Friday, held online and chaired by China from Fuzhou, the 21-country World Heritage Committee examined nominations submitted in 2020, when the session had to be postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic, and in 2021.

The UNESCO World Heritage Committee voted on Sunday to inscribe in its catalogue Quanzhou in China, Kakatiya Rudreshwara Temple in India, Trans-Iranian Railway in Iran, and Paseo del Prado and Buen Retiro in Spain.Â
Meeting online in this yearâs host city of Fuzhou, China, the world body chose the newly added sites for their cultural, historical or scientific significance. Â
