Residents from all walks of life came to remember this Police Officer who touched some many peoples lives the death of sergant scott lunger was on the minds of the people of hayward. He was known for his professionalism, his cool head and for his dedication to the people who live herein short, scott was regarded as a heroand, a heros memorial was what he got from those he protected. Him being gone. A somber day for Hayward Police, and Police Across the country. Good evening, im julie haener. Im frank somerville. The shooting happened 3 15 this morning, when scott lunger pulled over a truck for driving erratically. As Sergeant Lunger got out of the car and approached the drivers side of the vehicle, the driver shot Sergeant Lunger without warning. A second officer in a separate vehicle had also responded and returned fire as the pickup raced away. The second officer used his radio to alert dispatchers. Shots fired shots fired white chevy truck. Hes still going white Chevy Silverado truck, i copy. Set fire, and my partner down. Partner down. Whos down . Sergeant lunger is down. Within a couple of hours, the bullet riddled pickup truck was found abandoned in east oakland. Sergeant lunger was taken to the medical facility. He had died from his injuries. The number one focus a governor should have is to grow the economy. It is hard to have anything else happen if you dont have a healthy economy and difficult if it is going in the wrong direction. Utah has a very healthy economy right now but one area we have specialized in is to capitalize on the fact we have the air force base in utah, which has one of the best test and training ranges for air force military in north america. I appreciate the fact in the latest paris air show, the dreamliner and its accelerated takeoff and the airbus 380 and 350 and how theyre able to maneuver at very slow speeds and yet have elevation. It is uncanny how these massive airplanes stay afloat.
