I dont have the count as far as how many are sheltering in place, but if theyre within what we call the hot zone, if theyre right above or to the side of the rooms that are on fire, then we are evacuating them. As far as how the conditions are, we had to evacuate our firefighters about two or three times during the firefight. At this hour some people are still unaccounted for. Firefighters are going door to door. The building has 568 apartment units. It was built in 1975 before fire code mandated sprinklers in buildings.
