good morning. welcome to this special edition of cnn this morning. we are continuing our coverage of this temporary truce between israel and hamas and the expected release of more hostages today. my colleague, kaitlyn collins, is live in tel aviv and we ll have more from caitlyn in just a moment. this morning we are monitoring the situation in gaza and israel. this is day two of are this negotiated four-day truce and now we re watching for the release of the hostages being held by hamas. they re expected to free 14 israeli hostages, according to an israeli source. in exchange, israel is prepared to release up to 42 more prisoners today. cnn has learned no americans are to be freed today. they are freeing three palestinians for every israeli out of hostage situation. 13 israeli, 10 thai citizens, 1 filipino were in that first tranche of captives freed. this video was released by hamas. cnn, we should say, had no control over this content. four children were among those release
good morning. welcome to cnn this morning. it is saturday, november 25th. i m victor blackwell. i m isabel rosales. thanks for joining us. good to have you along this morning. we are waiting for the release of more hostages beings held by hamas. an israeli official says 14 hostages will be released today. in exchange, 42 palestinian hostages will be released. this is day two of four. it could bring 50 hostages home. 13 are israeli, ten are tai citizens and one be is filipino. the video was released by hamas and cnn had no control over its content. you can see several foreign nationals getting out of a mini van and a female hostage and at least one child. and there were cheers as those freed hostages arrived at hospitals near tel aviv. right now they are undergoing medical checks. officials say they are in good physical condition giving hope to families of those still being held. i can tell you this morning that we have a sign of life from my father. we know he s alive f
released any time now. a total of 50 are set to be released over the next four days. israel confirmed they were given a list of those names and started to contact the families. as far as we know, families who may have hostages returned in the next few days have not yet had word of whether or not their loved ones names are on the list. in return for that hostage release israel will itself release 39 palestinian prisoners today, that is made up of 2a women, and 15 teenage boys, and that group is the first of 150 palestinian prisoners held in israeli jails who are due to be released as part of this. in the last few hours we have seen trucks rolling through the rafah crossing, in larger number than we have seen at any point during this war so far, taking that desperately needed aid into gaza, you can see there, pictures of the trucks that started to move through, a lot them carrying very basic things, like food and water, also medical supplies as well, but crucially fuel. egypt s
footage is released showing hostages held nearly seven weeks held by hamas taken back to israeli soil. 13 hostages headed home, the first wave headed into gaza and into the hands of the international red cross and egyptian officials. getting to see a chance to see loved ones, some young ones are unaware their parents are dead. john roberts and sandra smith have the day off. special edition of america reports, a live look at the petunia checkpoint in the west bank, prisoners are expected to be reunited with families. 13 israelis have been freed under the israel-hamas deal and the egyptian state information service says ten thai nationals and one filipino have also been released in a completely separate deal. according to the idf, israeli special forces are with hostages who underwent medical checks inside israel. this is the moment the hostages crossed back home into israel. and the country and those around the world were able to at least for a moment cheer their return.
