COVID-19 Daily Report for Oneida-Herkimer Counties
For the second consecutive day, no deaths were included in the daily COVID-19 updates for Oneida and Herkimer counties.
Oneida County added 30 new COVID positive cases. After a streak of several days that saw new cases total into the low- and mid-40 s, the county has seen three-straight days of fewer that 40 cases. The county s 3-day average had grown into the mid-40 s. That latest report on Wednesday has the 3-day average at 30.
And, once again, hospitalizations among county residents and active cases are holding steady. There are 459 known, active cases in Oneida County as of Wednesday - again staying in the 450-490 range for three weeks running.
Oneida-Herkimer Daily COVID Update for February 11
Oneida and Herkimer counties combined to report fewer than 100 new cases in the latest coronavirus numbers released Thursday.
Sadly, Oneida County continues to see virus-related deaths daily, and this most recent report includes four new fatalities. Oneida County has now lost 375 residents to COVID-19. There were no new deaths from the virus in Herkimer County.
Oneida County added 53 new positive cases in Thursday s report. The county s active case total and hospitalizations continued to fall.
Active cases dropped for the 19th-consecutive day in Oneida county, now just of 1,000, after being as high as 7,200 nearly 3-weeks ago. And the number of county residents hospitalized with the virus fell for the tenth straight day, now at 72. Of those, 13 are nursing home residents.
While new COVID-19 cases and active cases are declining in Oneida and Herkimer counties, the two combined to report seven new deaths in Friday's update.
So far, the virus has killed 298 county residents.
The report also included 151 new positive cases, pushing the number of to-date infections to 16,646.
The number of known, active cases in the county increased by just 3, to 7, 109, but again that set a new high for the county for active cases at one time.
The hospitalization among Oneida County residents was relatively unchanged at 173.

In Herkimer County, the number of new cases announced in Tuesday s report topped triple-digits, at 102.
The active case total in Herkimer County is 1,137.
Some good news, though, as there were no new deaths, while the number of county residents hospitalized with the virus dropped to 50, down from 57 the day prior.
