FMCG Sector: Packaged fast-moving consumer goods in India grew 9 per cent year-on-year in the July-September quarter, driven by higher spending in rural areas, quarterly sector update by Nielsen IQ showed. Rural villages grew 6.4 per cent by volumes, up from 4 per cent in the previous quarter. Impulse categories, such as salty snacks and chocolates, drove growth in both packaged foods and non-foods.
