Bike shop across the street from me when he heard the crash and came out. Around 3 00, 3 30ish or so i heard a loud thud and knew something happened that was not good. Park managers says he saw two badly damaged vehicles across the road in an empty field. He says he drove toward the white toyota and saw the driver getting out. I said where are you going. He said i want to go and get police. I said youre not going any where. Reporter a coworker and a customer helped him keep the driver of the white vehicle on the scene. He was identified as james toliver. He was struggling a bit. Reporter the driver was unconscious and died at the hospital. The passenger was on the floor of the vehicle bleeding. Firefighters had to use the jaws of life to get out the two men. It appears toliver was drunk and speeding when he hit the white nissan who was trying to get away from the accident scene. On 2. We are live in hayward near an 880 onramp where a car crashed into a mother who was pushing her bay bridge in bib bay in a controller baby in her stroller.
