Date Time UUMV and dangerous operation charges at Maroochydore Police have charged a 34-year-old Mountain Creek man following a string of alleged offences since Tuesday, May 11. Around 8pm it will be alleged the man attempted to steal a 25-year-old delivery driver’s car when she stopped on Alexandra Parade. He allegedly forced the woman out of her vehicle, tried unsuccessfully to start the car, then fled on foot when she called out to bystanders. It will also be alleged the man stole a blue Mazda hatchback from an address at Woorilla Crescent, Mountain Creek later that evening. It was later located damaged at Marra Court.

No bail for man accused of attempted rape in Noosa

Premium Content Subscriber only A young man who was allegedly drunk when he attempted to rape a woman on her way to work said he felt sorry for the victim, a court has heard. Police allege the man approached a 34-year-old local woman on a thoroughfare between Noosa Parade and Hastings Street about 5.20am on April 18 before grabbing her and attempting to push her to the ground. Police said the woman managed to struggle free and fled to a nearby business where police were immediately called. This is a really serious example of an alleged rape attempt where the alleged victim and the client were completely unknown to one another and she is just attempting to go to work, he said.

Charges flow in for candidate after alleged pool scam

Premium Content Subscriber only A 32-year-old man who allegedly duped swimming pool customers out of $167,000 will face eight more charges as he plans to take his bid for freedom to the next step. Sunshine Coast Criminal Investigation Branch officer-in-charge Detective Senior Sergeant Daren Edwards told the Sunshine Coast Daily  Brad Murray Evans had been charged with eight more counts of fraud in addition to 12 counts of fraud - dishonestly obtain property from another. Mr Evans defence lawyer Brad Hill appeared for the 32-year-old concerning the original 12 counts in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Wednesday. Mr Hill said Mr Evans, who ran for Division 9 in Bundaberg Regional Council s 2016 election, mentioned applying for Supreme Court bail after his plea for freedom was shut down on March 17.
