Charges flow in for candidate after alleged pool scam

Premium Content Subscriber only A 32-year-old man who allegedly duped swimming pool customers out of $167,000 will face eight more charges as he plans to take his bid for freedom to the next step. Sunshine Coast Criminal Investigation Branch officer-in-charge Detective Senior Sergeant Daren Edwards told the Sunshine Coast Daily  Brad Murray Evans had been charged with eight more counts of fraud in addition to 12 counts of fraud - dishonestly obtain property from another. Mr Evans defence lawyer Brad Hill appeared for the 32-year-old concerning the original 12 counts in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Wednesday. Mr Hill said Mr Evans, who ran for Division 9 in Bundaberg Regional Council s 2016 election, mentioned applying for Supreme Court bail after his plea for freedom was shut down on March 17.
