Date Time Police update: Attempted rape at Noosa Heads Police have launched an appeal to locate the driver of a vehicle captured on CCTV in the vicinity of where a woman was allegedly assaulted in Noosa Heads on April 18. It will be alleged a 34-year-old local woman was walking down a thoroughfare between Noosa Parade and Hastings Street around 5.20am, when a man not known to her exited a vehicle and approached. The man then tried to engage verbally with the woman before allegedly grabbing her and attempting to push her to the ground. The woman managed to struggle free and fled to a nearby business where police were immediately contacted.

A Sunshine Beach man, 22, was on Thursday arrested and charged after he allegedly tried to sexually assault a young woman on April 18. Police say the woman was on her way to work about 5.20am when the man allegedly grabbed her. Sunshine Coast CIB officer-in-charge Daren Edwards said there were at least six people who may have spoken with the accused that morning. “There’s a few innocent people we would like to speak to about it,” Detective Senior Sergeant Edwards said.
