There is new evidence today that president obama has now reached the lowest point of his presidency so far. The Washington Post and abc news just released a new opinion poll showing that approval for mr. Obama has dropped to 42 percent. Thats the lowest number hes had in office. The president s disapproval rating has jumped up to 55 , the highest number he has had. The falloff in support for president obama has been fueled by the rollout problems for the new health care law. Fifty seven percent of those surveyed now oppose the measure, thats a record high. Law, a record low. Frightens the white house the most. Almost four in ten americans say they are more likely to oppose a politician who backs the legislation. While just over a fifth say they would be more likely to support such a politician. Carolyn and dan, one of the teachers we spoke with used to practice constitutional law, and she says the contract gives the church power over their personal lives. She submitted a revised contract that was promptly rejected. This contract would be a huge step backwards. It would say we are striping these employees of civil rights. She is out of a job after she signed and then crossed out portions of the contract that conforms with the teachings of the Roman Catholic church in their personal lives. Local streets still quardened off. The house where it happened is the gray house behind the bashes with the rv parked in front. Concord police were called to the home just before 6 00 and they wound up in a deadly confrontation with the woman who lives there. An officer or officers were not sure how many pulled their weapons and that woman was shot and killed on the path way just steps from her front porch. A neighbor told me he heard what he thought were fire crackers and he looked out the window to see an officer with her gun drawn. That same neighbor says a middle aged couple lives there with another man and woman in their 20s. And it was his impression that the woman who was shot was the older woman.
