And tonight students and parents are joining the fight. Im dan ashley. Im carolyn johnson. Alan wang has the latest for us. Carolyn and dan, one of the teachers we spoke with used to practice constitutional law, and she says the contract gives the church power over their personal lives. She submitted a revised contract that was promptly rejected. This contract would be a huge step backwards. It would say we are striping these employees of civil rights. She is out of a job after she signed and then crossed out portions of the contract that conforms with the teachings of the Roman Catholic church in their personal lives. You throw the employees personal lives in the middle of the disputes in the catholic church. Like reproductive rights and gay and lesbian rights. What the contract says is they must teach the principals of the Roman Catholic church. Which is not to be gay or lesbian or transgender . Thats not at all what the Roman Catholic principals say. There is no den gnaw grating of of classes of people. Now there is a ground swell of support for the teachers. Students almost walked out but stopped it after a plea from the principal on the intercom. I feel it is wrong and the Diocese Hospital control our teachers. Parents are threatening to withhold donations and created a Facebook Page calling for a protest on may 30th, and now the diocese says they are prompting the bishop to meet with parents and students next week. Abc7 news. In the south bay police are looking for arsonists who are terrorizing one particul. Striking early this morning in this new video you are seeing for the first time. Investigators have jeer zeroing in. The victims have been in their home talking with an arson investigator. It has been a long night for them. They have been up since 2 00 in the morning. Thats when the two cars parked in the now charred driveway went up in flames. Tonight flowers and fruit baskets are delivered to the tran home. It is a sign of support after the aggressive attack. Surveillance video shows one of the arsonists in a hoody dousing gasoline on the suv. That flash is a spark from a lighter. It doesnt take long before a full blown fire erupts. They are cold blood had ed cold blooded individual. They dont think of anyone else. This is not the first time tran and his wife and five kids were targeted. On may 11th, what looked like similarly dressed suspects threw paint on his car. 23rdon april 23rd the cars were punctured. Tran set up surveillance cameras when his home was burglarized. Working with children and family, i want everybody to feel safe and where they live. He is a School Board Member and Vietnamese Community member. She is worried these attacks could be racial. She wants the larger Asian Community to rally around the tran family. Neighbors admit they are scared. This is cell phone video of this fire. It could have cars and even us. I feel threatened. Investigators say they are doing what they can to protect the family. In san jose, lisa amin gulezian, abc7 news. Four people are suspected of tieing up a mother and robbing her two young children. Police believe these three men and a teen ransacked the home. One held her down while the other stole jewelry and electronics. The suspect vehicle was spotted and took them into custody. They are suspected it in three other break ins in fremont and redwood city earlier in the day. Concord police are on the lookout for a man who assaulted three women on a popular hiking trail. Here is a sketch of the guy. They described him after each incident. Police say the man sneaked up behind the women groping them and then took off running. It first happened in march on the walking path. And then it happened twice earlier this month. None of the women were physically injured. A construction worker died after falling 15 feet on to his head in san mateo. It happened late this afternoon in a new Condo Development on delaware street. Thats the former site of the bay meadows racetrack. Sky 7hd shows calosha investigators as they were collecting evidence. The Company Running the construction site tripoint homes has no violations over the past five years. New details on the closure of the college in san jose. The school will reopen tomorrow. It was served with an eviction notice. The president will only say the dispute was resolved and classes will resume tomorrow. San jose city leaders delayed a vote on new rules for marming marge clubs in the city. It includes maintaining a minimum distance and all pot be grown in san jose. The city council take out the proposed regulations on on june 3rd. San franciscos famous stretch of lombard street will be closed for part of the busy tourist season. The decision came after neighbors complained about traffic and accidents on that crooked part of the road. It will close from noon to 6 00 p. M. On weekends from june 21st until july 13th, and it will be closed july 4th weekend. The city will monitor how it impacts car and pedestrian traffic in the area to see where it go from here.
