The La Crosse School Board has promised more opportunities for citizens to offer their opinions on a $53 million elementary school building project, which includes a new elementary school at the site of the Hogan Administration Center and an addition to State Road Elementary School. The board has launched a series of community engagement sessions, and board members promised more sessions during the summer.
Two new La Crosse School Board members, Jim Bagniewski and Adam Manka, have expressed reservations about a $53 million building referendum this fall. Bagniewski criticized the referendum for not addressing the district s two middle schools, both of which are more than 80 years old, and suggested a plan that converts Central and Logan high schools into combined 6-12 high school/middle school sites.
Juan Jimenez has been elected as the new La Crosse School Board president, replacing Annie Baumann. Three new members, Tim Alberts, Adam Manka, and Jim Bagniewski, were sworn in for 3-year terms.
