Coldwater softball swept by Parma Western in I-8 twinbill

By Jim Measel May 5, 2021 | 5:24 AM COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater dropped both games of a Interstate 8 girls softball doubleheader to Parma Western on Tuesday by scores of 4-3 and 14-1. Coldwater scored three times in the last of the fourth to tie the opening game but the Panthers got what proved to be the winning run in the fifth. Alexis Bills had three hits including a triple and a RBI in the opening game. Jayla Foster and Karlie Knisley also had RBI’s. Things fell apart for Coldwater in the second game as they committed eight errors. After Coldwater got a run in the last of the first, the Panthers scored five runs in the second and seven more in the third. Mia Rzepka had a double and a triple in the nightcap.

Coldwater girls softball drop doubleheader at Olivet

By Jim Measel May 1, 2021 5:53 AM OLIVET, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater girls softball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader at Olivet on Friday as they were beaten by scores of 11-3 and 7-6. Olivet used the long ball to their advantage in the first game as they belted six home runs. Alyssa Bach and Brooklyn Kerry had two hits for Coldwater while Jayla Foster doubled in the first game. Coldwater outhit Olivet in the second game 10-7 but the Eagles completed the doubleheader sweep with a walk off homer in the last of the seventh. Foster had a double and triple in the second game. Mia Rzepka had a double and two RBI’s. Alexis Bills also drove in two runs. Morgan Dancer and Kerry both had two hits.

Girls Softball: Coldwater sweeps Hastings; Bronson loses to Clinton

By Jim Measel Apr 23, 2021 6:30 AM BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater extended its winning streak to six straight as they swept Hastings 20-1 and 15-2 in a Interstate 8 doubleheader on Thursday. Karlie Knisley paced a 12 hit attack in the opener with three hits while Mia Rzepka tripled. Alexis Bills was the winning pitcher as she struck out four in two innings of work. Coldwater collected 14 hits in the second game. Alyssa Bach drove in four runs. She along with Rylie Rice and Jayla Foster doubled while Brooklyn Kerry had a triple. Rzepka was the winning pitcher in the second game as she struck out four in her four innings of work. The Cardinals improved to 4-0 in the I-8 and 7-3 overall.
