Cardinals sweep Harper Creek in Interstate 8 softball finale By Jim Measel

BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) â Coldwater swept Harper Creek 13-0 and 20-0 as they closed out their Interstate 8 schedule for 2021.
Mia Rzepka and Alexis Bills were the winning pitchers. Bills threw a three inning no hitter in the second game.
Jayla Foster three hits including a homer in the first game. Alyssa Bach drove in three runs.
Rzepka had two doubles and three RBIâs in the nightcap.
The Cardinals are now 17-15 overall.
Harper Creek swept the J.V. doubleheader over Coldwater by scores of 21-4 and 22-0.

COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) â Coldwater lost three games in their girls softball invitational on Saturday.
They lost to Garden City 9-4 dropped two games to Grandville by scores of 2-1 and 13-8.
Alexis Bills and Mia Rzepka homered against Garden City.
The Cardinals got their only run in the first game against Grandville on a passed ball which scored Jayla Foster.
Bills had three RBIâs in the second game against Grandville while Karlie Knisely and Brooklyn Kerry drove in two runs. Bills and Kerry both had two hits.
The losses dropped Coldwaterâs record to 13-14-1. They will host Lumen Christi on Tuesday.

CLIMAX, MI (WTVB) â The Coldwater girls softball team posted a pair of one-hit shutouts as they took both ends of a non-conference doubleheader from Climax-Scotts on Thursday by scores of 16-0 and 11-0.
Mia Rzepka was the winning pitcher in the opening game as she struck out six and allowed only one hit in the five inning game.
She was backed by a 15-hit attack and a tight defense which only committed one error. Rzepka had three hits including two triples. Alyssa Bach, Jayla Foster, Alexis Bills and Riley Rice all had two hits. Rice and Morgan Dancer both had doubles.

COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) â Coldwater dropped both games of a Interstate 8 girls softball doubleheader to Parma Western on Tuesday by scores of 4-3 and 14-1.
Coldwater scored three times in the last of the fourth to tie the opening game but the Panthers got what proved to be the winning run in the fifth. Alexis Bills had three hits including a triple and a RBI in the opening game. Jayla Foster and Karlie Knisley also had RBIâs.
Things fell apart for Coldwater in the second game as they committed eight errors. After Coldwater got a run in the last of the first, the Panthers scored five runs in the second and seven more in the third. Mia Rzepka had a double and a triple in the nightcap.
