Cold shooting night dooms Coldwater girls in loss to HC

Both teams struggled offensively in the first half as Harper took a 13-11 lead into the intermission. Coldwater trailed 15-13 in the third quarter when Harper ran off eight straight to take control of the game. Jayla Foster led Coldwater with seven points while Marley Bussler scored a game-high 11 points for the Beavers. Coldwater won the JV game 25-22 as Kyra Klotz and Sara Miller each scored six points. Macy Stout grabbed seven rebounds. Harper Creek won the freshman game 28-18. Olivia Uren had eight points for Coldwater.

Lady Cardinals lose to undefeated Parma Western

(Photo credit: Prater Studios) COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Parma Western Panthers scored the first ten points of the game and never looked back as they defeated the Coldwater Cardinals 51-30 on Thursday night in an Interstate 8 contest at the Coach Floyd Eby Gymnasium. The Panthers never trailed as they led 12-5 after the first quarter and 25-13 at the half. The Cardinals were unable to make a serious dent in the Panthers lead as it grew to 38-19 after three quarters. Jayla Foster and Abby Herman both scored five points for the Cardinals while Allison Miller had five rebounds.

Girls hoops: CHS loses at Marshall, Bronson wins at the buzzer

BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – In girls high school basketball, Coldwater dropped a tough game at Marshall on Tuesday night as they were unable to overcome a 17-6 Redhawk second quarter in losing 43-37.  The Cardinals trailed by 14 at the break but outscored Marshall in the second half 25-17. Abby Herman led Coldwater with 10 points, Jayla Foster added eight points and Anna DeMeester had six points.  Coldwater drops to 1-2 in league play and 1-3 overall. Marshall swept the underclassmen games. They won the JV game 24-20. Cara Miller led Coldwater seven points while Jaelah Sloan had six points and six rebounds. In the freshman game, Coldwater was led by Hannah Stevens and Jalelah Sloan with four points each.

Coldwater, MI, USA / WTVB | 1590 AM · 95.5 FM | The Voice of Branch County Feb 9, 2021 9:31 PM COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Points were hard to come by at the Coach Floyd Eby Gymnasium on Tuesday night as Coldwater lost to Jackson Lumen Christi 31-22 in an Interstate 8 girls basketball game. Coldwater did not make a field goal in the first half but were only down 12-6 at halftime. The Cardinals started the second half with a 8-1 spurt to take a 14-13 lead but the Titans eventually led 19-16 after the third quarter and outscored Coldwater in the fourth quarter 12-6. Allison Miller had five points and seven rebounds for Coldwater while Jayla Foster had four points and six rebounds.
