Cardinals sweep Harper Creek in Interstate 8 softball finale By Jim Measel May 26, 2021 | 5:30 AM BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater swept Harper Creek 13-0 and 20-0 as they closed out their Interstate 8 schedule for 2021. Mia Rzepka and Alexis Bills were the winning pitchers. Bills threw a three inning no hitter in the second game. Jayla Foster three hits including a homer in the first game. Alyssa Bach drove in three runs. Rzepka had two doubles and three RBI’s in the nightcap. The Cardinals are now 17-15 overall. Harper Creek swept the J.V. doubleheader over Coldwater by scores of 21-4 and 22-0.

By Jim Measel COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater lost three games in their girls softball invitational on Saturday. They lost to Garden City 9-4 dropped two games to Grandville by scores of 2-1 and 13-8. Alexis Bills and Mia Rzepka homered against Garden City. The Cardinals got their only run in the first game against Grandville on a passed ball which scored Jayla Foster. Bills had three RBI’s in the second game against Grandville while Karlie Knisely and Brooklyn Kerry drove in two runs. Bills and Kerry both had two hits. The losses dropped Coldwater’s record to 13-14-1. They will host Lumen Christi on Tuesday.

Coldwater girls softball get two shutouts in doubleheader sweep of Climax-Scotts By Jim Measel May 7, 2021 5:03 AM CLIMAX, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater girls softball team posted a pair of one-hit shutouts as they took both ends of a non-conference doubleheader from Climax-Scotts on Thursday by scores of 16-0 and 11-0. Mia Rzepka was the winning pitcher in the opening game as she struck out six and allowed only one hit in the five inning game. She was backed by a 15-hit attack and a tight defense which only committed one error. Rzepka had three hits including two triples. Alyssa Bach, Jayla Foster, Alexis Bills and Riley Rice all had two hits. Rice and Morgan Dancer both had doubles.
