Four Tigers in Top 100 of Latest PGA University Rankings

CLEMSON, S.C. Clemson is the only golf program in the nation with four players ranked in the top 100 of the PGA University Rankings Presented by Velocity Global. The latest rankings were released on the PGA Tour website on Wednesday.Seniors Jacob Bridgeman, Kyle Cottam, Colby Patton and Zack Gordon are all ranked in the top 80 in the nation according to the latest rankings that take into account college, amateur and professional tournaments collegians have played over the  last year.Bridgeman is ranked 14th overall. The native of Inman, S.C. has a 69.67 stroke average this year, 35th best in the nation.  His 62 in the second round of the Maui Jim Intercollegiate on September 11th tied for the best round in the nation this year. His 70.74 career stroke average is second in Clemson history behind Doc Redman’s 70.70.Cottam is ranked 36th in the latest PGA University ranking. Bridgeman Leads Tigers at Colonial Collegiate Invitational

CLEMSON, S.C. Clemson Senior Jacob Bridgeman fired a two-under-par 68 on Tuesday and finished 20th in a strong national field at the Colonial Collegiate Invitational at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas.Clemson improved by 14 shots over its second round 298 to fire a team round of four-over-par 284, the sixth best round on Tuesday among the 15 teams in the field. The Tigers finished with a team score of 878 for the 54 holes, 14th place for the three rounds and 54 holes in the field that included seven of the top 10, and 10 of the top 20 teams in the nation.Stanford won the tournament with a 837 score, one shot better than Oklahoma. CLEMSON, S.C. – Jacob Bridgeman had an opening round 70 and finished the 36-hole first day with a 145 total in leading Clemson at the Colonial Collegiate at famed Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas. Clemson stands in 15th place in the 15-team tournament that includes seven of the top 10 teams in the nation and 10 of the top 20.The Colonial Collegiate is the top fall tournament in college golf, and is being played at the same Colonial Country Club that has been the site of a PGA event every year since 1946, the longest active streak of hosting a PGA Tour event.The par 70 course that is 7,204 yards in length, certainly challenged the field of top college golfers. CLEMSON, S.C. Clemson will be one of 10 top 20 teams in a 15-team field at the Colonial Collegiate at famed Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas, Oct. 4-5.
