CARY, N.C. – Behind two second-half goals, seventh-ranked Clemson women’s soccer downed ninth-ranked Notre Dame, 3-2, in the first of two semifinal games at the 2023 Ally ACC Women’s Soccer Championship. The win moves the Tigers into their first ACC Championship game since 2002. “We have great respect for Notre Dame, it’s always a hard, competitive game. We just felt that the last time out, we didn’t really do a true showing of who we were and we felt we could come out tonight and show people what we are capable of doing all season and being consistent with our play and I thought the first 30 minutes of that game was spectacular,” Head Coach Eddie Radwanski said. “Whoever we end up playing in the final, it’s going to be a tough game and they are playing a game as well. This team would tell you, last year we were a very good team but we underachieved, we didn’t do what we thought we were capable of so credit to these guys and our leadership group for making the com
SOUTH BEND, Ind. – After a tough 90-minute battle, the No. 8 Clemson Tigers dropped the final match of the regular season to Notre Dame, 0-2. The Tigers finish out the regular season with an impressive 13-2-3 overall record and a 7-2-1 record in conference play. “We finished the regular season, we wanted to win this last game and we didn’t but it doesn't take away from the good that the kids have done. We were just unfortunate today and let’s give Notre Dame credit, they played very well and came out with a lot of energy. That’s what happens sometimes, and it happened to us tonight,” Head Coach Eddie Radwanski said. “Now we have to dust ourselves off and get ourselves ready for the next match which happens to be on Sunday for us.” The Tigers recorded eight total shots against the Fighting Irish and goalkeeper Halle Mackiewicz picked up four saves. In the 82nd minute, Notre Dame’s Kiki Van Zanten was awarded a penalty kick which was saved by Mackiewicz but d
CLEMSON, S.C. – On an afternoon where Clemson celebrated seniors Halle Mackiewicz, Makenna Morris and Megan Bornkamp, No. 8 Clemson outlasted No. 18 Pitt, 1-0, led by the three seniors. The win moves the Tigers to 13-1-3 on the year, 7-1-1 in ACC play, while the loss drops the Panthers to 12-4-1 and 5-2-1 in ACC play. “To win on Senior Day, it’s just special and we have such a great group of kids, a wonderful group of seniors so the team was really determined to send them out on a winning note on Senior Day,” Head Coach Eddie Radwanski said. “This was a very good game, Pitt is an excellent team and we were fortunate enough to score the goal and get the win.” Morris scored the lone goal of the match, her eighth of the year and fourth game-winner of the season. Mackiewicz was solid in goal, making five saves on the night and recording her 12th shutout of the season. Bornkamp was a steadying force on the field for the Tigers, putting pressure on Pitt early and keeping the Pa
CLEMSON, S.C. – A second-half scoring outburst, including a brace from Renee Lyles, propelled No. 8 Clemson (12-1-3, 6-1-1 ACC) to a 3-0 victory over Louisville (3-8-5, 2-4-2 ACC) on Thursday night at Historic Riggs Field. During the match, the NCAA revealed its midseason top-16 rankings, with the Tigers checking in at No. 8. “Louisville is a good team, they are one of the better organized defensive groups in the league so this isn’t an easy team to break down. There were a few adjustments that we felt like we needed to make at halftime so credit to our team for bringing a little bit more urgency in our play in the attacking half and let’s give us some credit, we kind of wore them down and found the things that we were looking for,” Head Coach Eddie Radwanski said. While no goals were scored in the first half, the Tigers impressed on the pitch defensively as they left the Cardinals cornerless and allowed for only a single shot to be taken, which was saved by goalkeeper Ha
DURHAM, N.C. – The No. 7 Clemson Tigers shutout No. 23 Duke, 1-0 to secure their 11th victory of the season and 10th clean sheet of the year. Senior Makenna Morris scored the lone-goal of the match as she passed the 50 career points mark in Durham. “Duke is never an easy game to play, especially on their home field but I thought we were in control for a good portion of the match especially in the first half. I saw a lot of good things in our game model that we are trying to stay true to and so I give the kids credit for that,” Head Coach Eddie Radwanski said. “It’s exciting to get the win, grabbing three valuable points in the standings in the ACC, so we're still in contention so we are going to put our heads down and get back to work.” Clemson started off strong in the first half as they dominated the pitch and held possession of the ball for the majority of the half. The Tigers tried to find opportunities to score as they outshot the Blue Devils 7-2 in the first ha
