Prompting several weather alerts in our region. The rain is falling in Santa Cruz County tonight streets there as you can see. Pretty slick and water is standing in some areas of Boulder Creek. Flood advisory has expired within just the past hour. But a Flash Flood Watch is in effect that curation orders and warnings remain in place near the burn zones in san mateo and santa cruz counties see her on the map the areas shaded in yellow are under evacuation warnings. The areas in red have evacuation orders in place. Is rain and snow knocked out power for more than half a million pg e customers in northern california. Nearly 75 of those customers have their power back on right now, but 16,000 customers in the bay area. Theyre still in the dark tonight a
It gets heavier as you had further east and southeast e il pockets of moderate and heavy rain within the Santa Cruz Mountains. We still have about another hour to go for this Flash Flood Warning that overlaps with the czu burn scar. As this emerges from the south i think new warnings will have to replace that, whether that happens right at 6 30 or they wait a little bit for the next wave of more substantial moisture to arrive. We will keep you updated on that. The moisture again is just being sent up towards us by the bulk of this Atmospheric River with the heaviest rain being aimed further to our south, but plenty of the bay area is getting in on all of this rainfall. It was pretty much coming into the Central Coast from the west earlier now its hitting the coast of the state from the south and west and in the process we have actually seen a resurgence of moisture in areas like san jose as well as other areas further south in the bay, we zoom in on some of the spots this morning you can see those areas of yellow orange and even red thats the deeper and heavier rainf
Start to actually really calm to close out this friday. And thats the way were going to stay through saturday and sunday too much calmer conditions. So that is actually helping a lot with the heightened fire potential that we had been seeing 60s 70s, even a couple of 80s on the map this morning and those areas where winds are president helping to keep those areas like berkeley and saint helene on the warm side in the low 80s fairfield conquered in oakland also quite warm at 77 degrees. Well alameda 82 right now so were already to a warm start and its going to be a hot finish to the day a whole lot like yesterday.
