Diphu Town Lake all set for renovation - Eastern Mirror

Our Correspondent Diphu, Oct. 16 (EMN): Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Tuliram Ronghang, on Sunday laid the foundation stone for development of Diphu Town Lake. The lake will be beautified and recreational infrastructure developed under the package of memorandum of settlement (MoS) by the United People’s Democratic Society (UPDS) in 2011 at an estimated cost of INR 11.99 crore. Among others, the event was attended by Bidyasing Engleng, MLA; chairman of KAAC, Raju Tisso; executive member, Education, Richard Tokbi and chairman of Diphu Municipal Board, Rah Kro.

Karbi Anglong s second biggest open stage at Umswai

Our Correspondent Diphu, Oct. 10 (EMN):  Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Tuliram Ronghang inaugurated the second biggest open stage at Umswai  under Amri, Member of Autonomous Council (MAC) constituency in West Karbi Anglong on Monday. Inaugurating the open stage, the CEM said, “The biggest open stage was in Duarbagori MAC constituency and second biggest open stage is here in Umswai. I am glad to inaugurate the second biggest open stage constructed under a state government-sponsored scheme.” To reach potable water to every household, the CEM said, “Under Greater Umswai Water Supply Scheme, in one year we will be able to connect the pipeline water supply to every household of Umswai.” He also informed the gathering that Lang-erdang High School will be provincialised. Karbi Anglong: MoU signed between KAAC and AMDCL

Our Correspondent Diphu, Sep. 2 (EMN): A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) and Assam Mineral Development Corporation Limited (AMDCL), a government of Assam undertaking, for mineral prospecting, exploration survey and mining of the mineral deposition under the jurisdiction of KAAC. The MoU was signed in presence of Minister Mines and Minerals and Power, Nandita Garlosa at Arboretum cum Craft Centre, Matipung in Diphu on Friday. Prior to the signing of MoU, a meeting was held between KAAC and AMDCL, which was chaired by Chief Executive Member (CEM) Tuliram Ronghang and attended by Nandita Garlosa; MLAs Bidyasing Engleng, Dorsing Ronghang and Rupsing Teron including EMs and MACs of KAAC. Karbi Anglong observes International Yoga Day

Our Correspondent Diphu, June 21 (EMN): Karbi Anglong observed the 8th International Yoga Day (IYD) along with the rest of the world. In Diphu town, various institutions, organisations and political parties observed IYD by organising yoga sessions and speeches on the importance of yoga for physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing. At Karbi Anglong Sports Association (KASA) stadium, the IYD was jointly organised by Kreeda Bharati; Nehru Yuva Kendra, Diphu; KASA; Karbi Anglong Mountaineering Association (KAMA) and District Administration; Chief Executive Member (KAAC), Tuliram Ronghang and other elected members of KAAC and the general public attended the yoga session. Our Correspondent Diphu, June 6 (EMN): Apurba Kumar Bhatacharjee, General Secretary (GS) of Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) on Monday alleged that the BJP party had started dividing the Karbi people; and it is a government that is looting public money.
