Among the zones that needed fewer toilets are Bengaluru West and Dasarahalli. The BBMP has allocated only Rs 499.80 lakh for the construction of new toilets and improving the existing toilets. The BBMP has allocated Rs 824.66 lakh for Bengaluru East and Yelahanka Zones and Rs 826.67 lakh for Mahadevapura Zone.
According to officials from BBMP’s Solid Waste Management (SWM) department, the amount of C&D waste being seized and cases being registered has gone down in the recent past.
The officials led by BBMP Chief Medical Officer (Public Health) Dr Balasundar inspected 280 establishments and issued notices to 167 of them for violating safety norms. They have ordered the closure of 21 pubs, bars and restaurants for violating the norms.
Meanwhile, the BBMP Assistant Commissioner (Advertisements) has submitted a report stating that BBMP has identified 923 unauthorised flexes and banners and taken measures to remove them. The BBMP Assistant Commissioner has lodged 369 complaints and registered 264 FIRs.
