KA delegations heads for Delhi to press on Autonomous State issue; sit-in-demonstration on Aug 8

Our Correspondent Diphu, Aug. 5 (EMN): Inorder to press the central government on Autonomous State issue, the Autonomous State delegation headed by Karbi Anglong NC Hills Autonomous State Demand Committee (KAANCHASDCOM) and other supporting organisations have left for New Delhi on Friday to hold a sit-in-demonstration at Jantar Mantar on August 8, to press the Central government in this Monsoon session of Parliament on Autonomous State issue. More than 300 delegations comprising of organisations like the KAANCHASDCOM, KSA, Karbi So-Arlo Amei, Karbi Riso Adorbar, Karbi Adorbar, Tiwa Adorbar, Karbi Unemployed Youth Association, Dimasa Students Union, Dimasa Mother Association, Jadikhe Naisho Hoshom – Dimasa apex body and Dimasa Women Society have left from various destinations including Diphu, Halflong and Guwahati. KAAC clarifies on eviction drive - Eastern Mirror

Our Correspondent Diphu, July 3 (EMN): Amarsing Tisso, Member of Autonomous Council (MAC) Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) on Sunday clarified that the eviction drive being carried out on 35 families illegally settled inside District Judicial Court allotted land at Baliram Terang village, 4 km Lumding road was due to a High Court order and not due to the Chief Executive Member (CEM) or the KAAC. In a press conference held at Chief Executive Member (CEM) KAAC bungalow in Diphu, Tisso stated that ‘earlier, the judiciary was with the executive at the DC office. But in 2012-13, for the good of the people of Karbi Anglong, the judiciary was separated from the executive and the court approached the KAAC for the allotment of land for the construction of the court complex. Our Correspondent Diphu, June 21 (EMN): Karbi Anglong observed the 8th International Yoga Day (IYD) along with the rest of the world. In Diphu town, various institutions, organisations and political parties observed IYD by organising yoga sessions and speeches on the importance of yoga for physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing. At Karbi Anglong Sports Association (KASA) stadium, the IYD was jointly organised by Kreeda Bharati; Nehru Yuva Kendra, Diphu; KASA; Karbi Anglong Mountaineering Association (KAMA) and District Administration; Chief Executive Member (KAAC), Tuliram Ronghang and other elected members of KAAC and the general public attended the yoga session.
