Clemson Sets Two Top-10 Times on Thursday

PHILADELPHIA  The Clemson track and field program had two athletes make their way into the school record book on Thursday at Penn Relays. Brynne Sumner and Maddie Dinneen both set impressive personal bests on their way onto top-10 lists. While only a few Tigers competed on the opening day of the relays, most of the team will make their meet debut on Friday. Action begins at 11:55 a.m. with the women's distance medley relay, and will run through 6:25 p.m. concluding with the men's sprint medley relay. THURSDAY HIGHLIGHTS Brynne Sumner set a massive PR in the 1500 meter run, finishing the race in 4:20.96. That time is sixth-best in Clemson history and puts Sumner on her second top-10 list of the season. She holds the No. 7 spot in the 800 meter run. Tigers Set Men s 4×400 School Record to Close Out Weekend – Clemson Tigers Official Athletics Site

GAINESVILLE, S.C.  Three Tigers set top-10 marks on Saturday to wrap up a successful Tom Jones Invitational. Two of the top-10 times came from the men's 800 meter run, as Tarees Rhoden and Aman Thornton both set personal bests in the event. The Tigers continued their run of good form this weekend and will be back in action on Saturday, Apr. 22 in Columbia, S.C. for the USC Open. SATURDAY HIGHLIGHTS Tarees Rhoden shot up to No. 2 in school history in the 800 meter run with a time of 1:46.20. He is just 0.73 off catching Kameron Jones for the school record in the event. He finished second in Gainesville. Aman Thornton finished third in the 800 meter run and moved up to No. 4 in school history with a personal best time of 1:46.82. Oneka Wilson made it onto the top-10 list with a 13.31 second 100 meter hurdles time. She now holds the No. 10 spot in school history.

Tigers Shine on Friday at Texas Relays

AUSTIN, Texas  The Clemson track and field program had another stellar day on Friday at Texa Relays, highlighted by the men's sprint medley relay team earning the victory. Action will resume on Saturday, the final day of the meet, at 12:40 p.m. with the women's 4x800 meter relay. FRIDAY HIGHLIGHTS The men's sprint medley relay team of Wanya McCoy, Cameron Rose, Tarees Rhoden and Aman Thornton won the race with a time of 3:14.02. McCoy ran a personal best 10.04 in the 100 meter dash to advance to the finals at 5:25 p.m. tomorrow, however the time will not count on the Clemson top-10 list due to wind. The men's 4x100 meter relay of Giano Roberts, Cameron Rose, Guinove Joanus and Wanya McCoy qualified for finals with a time of 39.80 seconds. They will compete tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. Oneka Wilson ran a 13.27 in the 100 meter hurdles to qualify for tomorrow's finals at 4:20 p.m. Antoinette Van der Merwe's 13.25 did not qualify, but would have placed her at No.
