Stona, Foreman Add Top Marks at Clemson Invitational

CLEMSON, S.C. - The Clemson track and field program finished the second day of the Clemson Invitational with two additional top-10 marks, joining the two school records that were set on Friday inside the Indoor Track and Field Facility. Program Director Mark Elliott was pleased with the results stating: Friday was a great day. There were numerous national and conference marks. The depth of the program continues to show and be a strong point for our team. One standout from today's competition would be our women's 4x400. Hitting a time of 3:38.11 this early in the season is a very good performance for us. Collectively, we still have some things to work on, so we'll get back to that this week in training. I'm pleased with both days of competition and for our athletes to execute and hold their own against the numerous nationally ranked teams at that present this weekend. Newcomers Shine on First Day of Clemson Invitational

CLEMSON, S.C. - Clemson's men and women's track team posted two school records on the first day of the Clemson Invitational inside the Indoor Track and Field Facility on Friday afternoon. Following Friday's competition, the Tigers have multiple athletes in the Top-25 in the NCAA this season. Some of the top highlights from Friday included: Freshman Daniel Cope entered the Clemson track scene with a bang, tossing a school record 20.99 meters in the men's weight throw. Cope opened his prelims series with a toss of 20.34m. He set the school record in his second throw of the series, spinning twice and hurling the 16 pound implement 68 feet 10.50 inches. Cope marked two more throws at 19.59m and 19.99m, respectively. All of Cope's legal throws would have placed him in the top four of Clemson's All-Time list. CLEMSON, S.C. – Three Tigers were recognized as ACC Performers of the Week for their impressive marks set at this past weekend’s Orange & Purple Elite Meet, the conference announced Tuesday. Tarees Rhoden was honored as the men’s track performer of the week, while Marie Forbes was named the women’s field performer of the week. Rojé Stona was co-field performer of the week along with Georgia Tech’s Cameron O’Neal. In his first meet as a Tiger, Rhoden shot himself up to the top of Clemson’s all-time 600 leaderboard with an extremely impressive 1:17.81. He led the race from beginning to end and finished approximately 50 meters ahead of his closest competition en route to the fourth-best 600 meter time in the nation this season.  “For Tarees, The 600 is a good indicator of where he should be in his primary event, the 800, and that’s a really good start for him” raved Program Director Mark Elliott. Tigers Open 2021-22 Indoor Season Strong

CLEMSON, S.C. - Clemson's indoor track season got underway on Friday inside Clemson's Indoor Track and Field Facility where 17 team competed, including two ACC opponents (GT and FSU).
