we're glad you are right here. let's start at the top of the hour with republican presidential candidate mitt romney. he's facing criticism and questions for being a mormon. this time it's coming from the pastor of a mega church in dallas. his name is reverend robert jeffress. you may recognize that name and face. jeffress introduced governor rick perry at the conservative values voter summit in washington, d.c. he was critical of the church of jesus christ of latter day saints and told our jim acosta and others that morm ononism is cult. >> you created a stir because in talking to reporters, you said in pretty strong plain language what you think of mormonism. you describe it as a cult. and you say that if a republican votes for mitt romney, they're giving credibility to a cult. to you stand fwby that comment? >> absolutely. that is the historic position of evangelical christianity. we have officially labelled mormonism as a couple. i think those born again followers of christ should prefer a competent christian to a competent nonchristian like mitt romney. that's why i'm enthusiastic about rick perry. >> what do you say to voters who say religion, his mormonism shouldn't be an issue? he's just as american as anybody else? >> i agree he's just american as anyone else. >> reporter: and mormons do say they are christians. >> a lot of people say they are christians and they are not. they do not embrace historical christiani christianity. i believe as christians we have the duty to prefer and select christians as our leeraders. i think when we got a choice as he evangelicals, i believe we need to go with rick perry. >> this is not the first time that rodney has come under attack for his beliefs, though the first time that mormonism has been part of a presidential campaign. he faced this same type of criticism when he ran for the presidential nomination four years ago. a lot of people had questions. a lot of voters don't know a lot about mormonism and it even caused one voter, you may remember this, to react to mitt romney this way. >> hello, sir, how are you? >> i'm one person who will not vote for a mormon. >> is that right? can i shake your hand anyway? >> no. >> well, you see it there. but a little about mormonism. it's a religion that people may not know about. it was founded by a former named joseph smith in the early 1800s. he said an angel guided him to a hill in new york state and there on that hill church doctrine says he found golden tablets detailing how cyst visited an ancient civilization in the americas. the tablets are the basis for the book of mormon. smith claimed he saw god and christ in the flesh on a hill in pal mi are a, new york. in his followers fled persecution in new york and moved out west settling what became utah. now heads of the church, presidents of the church are considered prophets and apostles of god. mormons believe in christ and god and they consider themselves christians. now the pastor backing perry says basically americans should not vote for romney because of his mormon faith. we'll turn to another presidential candidate who got into trouble talking about faith, that is herman cain. he was making headlines for his stance against muslims. he said he wouldn't put muslims in his administrations. if he did, he would give them extra scrutiny. that was then, this is now. he is among a top of polls. friday at the same value voters summit, he was feeling pretty good about his new found popularity. >> thank you very much. three months ago the political pundits said herman cain can't get the nomination. herman cain cannot win the presidency because he doesn't have high name id. he doesn't have a billion dollars and he never held public office. let me tell what you the american people are saying. they don't care about a billion dollars, america wants to raise some cain, not more money. >> he got a number of standing ovations, a lot of applause that value voters summit. he continues to slam the occupy wall street movement, calling the protesters anti-capitalists. we'll have more on that summit throughout the morning, expecting mitt romney and ron paul to address the voters later this morning. right now, six minutes past the hour. details to give you about the white house involvement in that solindra loan deal. they're coming from e-mails the administration has just sent to congress. two house panels are looking into why the white house pushed for $535 million in federal loan guarantees for a california solar energy company that eventually went bankrupt. the loan was approved in may of 2010. solyndra filed for bankruptcy this year. e-mails give us insights into the white house and the push to give this loan to this company. one e-mail from an energy department adviser talking about getting the loan approved said, the "white house is breathing down my neck on this." the white house defended its handling of that loan. also, a quiet family gathering to say good-bye to steve jobs. "the wall street journal" reporting the funeral for the apple co-founder was held yesterday. the paper quotes an unnamed source who says the service was small, private affair. no details about where it happened, though. jobs, as you know, died wednesday after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. the number of deaths linked to those tainted cantaloupes continue to rise. the death toll now up to 21. centers for disease control and prevention says 109 cases of list teara h lystiria continue to rise. they were recalled last month. it is believed they are all out of the stores. because of the long incubation period of listirea, it could be a couple months before you actually feel sick. let's turn to new york where the district attorney there in queens says a two-year investigation broken up a $13 dll million global crime ring. they're looking for 25 more suspects. the da says they used forged credit cards and identity theft. someone's got to stop her from going through with this. >> the fight appears to be over. the fight between 20th century fox and the producers of "the simpsons," both sides appear to have come to an agreement for a 24 24th and 25th season. negotiations stalled over pay for the actors that do the voices for the characters. details were not announced. eight minutes past the hour. let's say good morning to reynolds wolf who i know is relieved to say "the simpsons" will continue. >> i didn't know how we could possibly go on. now things are looking good. thumbs are up, man. weather is looking interesting in parts of the country. you think that on the surface things would be better with possibility of rain in the southern plains. but then when you think about what a dry summer it's been, we have heavy rain in store for that part of the world. good reason for cheering there. it is too late for a lot of the farmers and ranchers? we'll have a little more on that. >> a simple question for you. you and i are in business together. and we say hey, we're going to split the profits 50/au50, that sound like a good deal? >> absolutely. >> to most people it might be. but for the nba players and the owners, that ain't good enough. 50/50 won't get it done. the owners give that offer and issue an ultimatum to the players. the players say, no. you know what it means now? it's all but certain the first two weeks of the nba season will be canceled. the very latest next. stay with me. it's nine past the hour on this cnn saturday morning. you made i. it's got tender white meat chicken. the way i always made it for you. one more thing.... those pj's you like, i bought you five new pairs. love you. did you see the hockey game last night? fans. the fans always suffer the most. >> we have college football. we have the nfl will carry us through. and then you have college basketball will come along as well. it's unfortunate after the great season they had last year to just -- a lot of people think they won't start playing basketball until the beginningst year. we shall see. did you stay up for the baseball last night? >> i did not. some people sleep. you're like a vampire. you're always up. >> a couple of good ones. a lot of people consider this a major upset. don't tell that to st. louis. they beat out the much favored philadelphia phillies in the deciding game five of the national league series. they were heavily favored, the phillies were. the cardinals just barely got into the playoffs. so now milwaukee will be in. they'll play milwaukee, the national league championship series. that does start up tomorrow. the brewers game last night was really the most exciting of the evening. they went into extras. by the way. also this is pretty cool. look at what happened at the white house yesterday. you know they always have champions there, super bowl champions and college champions? no. yes you do. thought these were electric? yes, it's a uh, a chevy volt. so what are you doing at a gas station? some positive jobs numbers to tell you about. employers added 103,000 new jobs in september. that did not, however, make a dent in the unemployment rate which is at 9.1%. the people hurting most are african-americans and hispanics. tom foreman with the breakdown. >> reporter: when president obama took office, the unemployment trend line was already headed up and it has continued going up quite some time and leveling out up here. only it's really not doing much of dropping. still at 9.1%. context really matters here. let's look at the months that we've had since the obama administration began. a lot of months of job losses here. then the stimulus came along. some job growth. after that, more job lossesment and now job growth over here. but why do i say context? i say context because at the same time more americans are entering the workforce, looking for jobs. so the simple fact that we're creating jobs in times like this is not necessarily enough. if you want to keep up with all those people entering the job market, you have to get above this red line right here. you can see that sometimes we do, a lot of times we don't. even when we're in this area, it's just the status quo. we're simply not getting worse, not getting better. we've got to get all the way up here in terms of monthly job creation. the truth is we have to be up there for many months to make up for all the losses we've seen. so who's being hurt the most? we continue looking at the context of all this. well, taffe c well, african-americans are getting pounding. hispanics behind them by bait. and wages, that's another way of looking at it here. before the recession from 2001 to 2008, who is getting more jobs? 35,000 to 70,000 mid wage earners, they were not getting much. but when the recession came, they got pounded. massive job loss there. it really hasn't come back much. look at all those things. consider all that context. that's the key to solving our job problems and we haven't sorted it out yet. people hurting for jobs is a big part of the occupy wall street movement. the movement getting bigger. more protests in more cities. it's no the just young people showing up. cnn's mary snow with the story. >> reporter: t.j., the majority of people camped out here are young people. but we found some grandparents showing up for the first time. it is their concern about jobs. as protesters started week three of their occupy wall street movement, 73-year-old ala decided it was time she joined them. the retired grandmother from new jersey says she's frustrated with seeing jobs shipped overseas. >> i'm worried about my son, about my grandchildren, about my neighbors. i just worry about decent people who want to work and can get a job. >> reporter: that worry also brought jim moore to the park for the first time. he has four grandchildren. >> i'm retired. i get social security. i get a pension. and, you know, maybe when they get to be my age they'll have the same thing. but the way it looks now, they may not even have a job. >> reporter: there's no singular message among this group, 43-year-old buddy bolton says the lack of jobs prompted him to come here thursday and spend the night. he says he lost his creative design job a year ago and spent his savings on surgery. >> my personal situation is so bad that i felt like i wanted to be amongst other people going through the same thing. and so that's why i came. i came to support and to, you know, help get the message out that this is a shame on america. >> reporter: 86-year-old harvey hafner is also a newcomer. he is a long time union member and lobbyist. >> i get kind of emotional because i spent my whole life fighting these forces. and it's like a ten headed snake. you cut one head off and another one grows back. they're insidious, totally. >> reporter: you say they. >> the wall street crowd, the bankers. >> reporter: by midday, some still remained in their sleeping bags. the curious looked in from the outside. more unions are showing support. but some union workers are skeptical like rob chester. >> they're unorganized and they just trying -- i don't though what point they're trying to make. i think where they need to march is washington. i don't know what they're doing here. >> reporter: some of the other people we spoke with say they plan on coming back and they say they hope to contribute in some way. t.j.? let's start with the demonstrations. they began as demonstrations against corporate greed along new york's wall street. they now have grown into demonstrations across the country like this one in new orleans. more demonstrations are slated for today and tomorrow. the movement enters now the fourth week. also, cnn learned the same government group that says most women in their 40s don't need routine mammogram tests will recommend something similar for healthy men, that they not get screened for prostate cancer. the u.s. preventative services task force says screening with the psa blood test results in "small or no reduction in prostate cancer deaths." also, police in kansas city still searching for missing 10-month-old lisa irwin. her parents come under greater scrutiny. debra bradley, she says that police told her she lied a lie detector test and both parents stopped cooperating with police. the couple says that's not true. >> she's everything. she's our little girl. she completed our family and she means everything to my boys. and we need her home. i can't be without her. >> the parents say lisa irwin, the baby, was last seen in her roomed on monday night. we go now to the conrad murray trial. testimony wrapped up for the week on the trial of jackson's personal physician with a recording between conrad murray and investigators. earlier this week we learned about the day jackson died from murray's former girlfriends. ted rollins is keeping us updated from l.a. >> reporter: t.j., the murray trial ended the week with riveting testimony from conrad murray via an audio tape that jury listened as murray talked to investigators and this was done just two days after michael jackson died. he talked about the fact that when he came onboard to take care of michael jackson, he found out he'd be giving him propofol on a daily basis. he said each and every night he put michael jackson to sleep using propofol, except, he said, for the three days leading up to jackson's death. he said he was trying to wean him off propofol and that was the only time that he didn't give it to him. listen carefully as murray tells investigators what happened during those crucial minutes where jackson was unresponsive. >> i came back to his bedside and he wasn't breathing. immediately, i checked for a pulse. i was able to get a pulse. his body was warm. there was no change in color. i then lifted his leg. and i continued to do cpr and mouth-to-mouth resuscitation until the paramedics came. and the paramedics came. they called ucla. they hooked him up to the pulse monitor. he was not breathing. >> the headline from this audio, of course, is that murray never mentions any of the telephone calls that we already heard in court. phone calls to his girlfriends and to his office staff during those critical periods. it's something that the defense will have to grapple with in closing arguments. looking forward to next week. what we're looking at is monday is a dark day. there is no court at all. and on tuesday, we'll hear the tail end of this audio tape. it's about a two-hour long tape. we got through about an hour and 40 minutes. so we'll finish that up. then it will be cross-examination time of the detective that's on the stand. t.j.? >> it's going to be beautiful through the weekend. >> a beautiful fall weekend. anyone going to enjoy the fall colors in maine, new hampshire, vermont, it's nice. staying in new york is a good idea, too. you can't tell from this vantage point, but central park, a good morning for a jog. different story in parts of texas. i want to show you something real fast. this is what people in texas have been wanting to see for a very, very long time. heavy rain moving into the lone star state. some of the places, especially near lubbock and into the odesa area, we could be seeing issues in terms of flash flooding. that will be a big problem for a lot of people. we have to watch that carefully. on the other side of that boundary, we have wraparound moisture forming in the central rockies. we're seeing snow up here. if you happen to be a ski hound, it's going to be an interesting day. not really perfect conditions as of yet. but it's going to break from vail to aspen and places like gunison or sea boat springs. expect the rainfall. meanwhile, for parts of florida, the sunshine state, not really living up to its billing today. anyone going around i-4 today from daytona beach and southward, you'll see the intermittent showers. some thunderstorms from port orange southward and west palm beach and ft. lauderdale, keep that in mind. the reason we're seeing the heaviest rainfall is we have this area of low pressure and frontal boundary that extends all the way up to the u.s.-canadian border. this is going to drift from west to east through the weekend. high pressure over parts of the even seaboard will give you the great conditions in new york. you'll have those in boston, too. in atlanta, we'll see moisture coming in slowly feeding backa . it will feel warm and muggy on a day like today. highs in 80 in atlanta. 88 in dallas. chicago and minneapolis into the low 80s. on the other side of this frontal boundary, you're going to have a big change in terms of temperatures and the showers. but 44 the high in denver. 56 in salt lake city. 63 in seattle. 77 in los angeles. and 73 in el paso. hey, you know what? that's your forecast. we're done here. let's pitch it over to t.j. >> thank you. iowa has spoken. so the rest of the states can now get in line. we'll have a look at the ever changing republican primary calendar. that's just gorgeous. washington, d.c., good morning you to. speaking of washington, the president is pushing hard for his jobs bill. he's doing it again in his weekly address released just this morning, accusing republicans of creating the gridlock in d.c. >> this is not the time for the usual games or political gridlock in washington. so any senator out there thinking about voting against this jobs bill needs to explain why they would oppose something that we know would improve our economic situation. if the republicans in congress think they have a better plan for creating jobs right now, they should prove it. one of the same economists that looked at our plan said their ideas "wouldn't mean much for the economy in the near term." >> south dakota's republican senator john thune, he had a response. he knocks down the president's jobs plan in the weekly gop address. >> president obama's policies are damaging our economy. and his proposed solutions are not serious. it's nothing but a rehash of the same failed ideas he already tried combined with a huge tax increase. this is a cynical political ploy designed not to create jobs for struggling americans, but to save the president's own job. >> thune went ton say that fewer government relations and tax reform will get more americans working and the economy moving in the right direction. if you think you though which states will have biggest impact on the republican presidential nomination, you might want to think again. the primary calendar seems to just keep changing. looks like though iowa will be a key state once again. but you never really know. tom foreman with the story. >> reporter: this is the part that hasn't changed. you have a lot of candidates still running a race where they're not sure where the finish line is going to be. but it is becoming a little bit clearer. this is what happened. a while back we had everybody clustered here in february and then florida jumped forward and said they were going into january. that triggered south carolina. and nevada rushed in there. and now we're talking about iowa on the 3rd of january. that is the closest we've come to a solid day on that. that probably will put new hampshire somewhere in this vicinity. they all have rules in term of where they have to be in relation to each other. iowa did not go into december. that's something people were worried about. that is a good thing. but, there is still concern of having the front loading of january. same as before. now you have the holidays in here. you have the college bowl championships all taking place at the same time the early voting is happening much that's a real issue that these campaigns do look at. so watch for the conflicts that build up there as we move this whole campaign season up. who benefits? same as we said before, probably front runners with a lot of money do better if you have a short erase because ther race. voters, just depends on who you like whether or not if this is good or bad for you. people who want a national primary, the second presidential race in a row, this helps them build their case. look, we're moving to a national primary anyway. let's get it done. but still might be a long road before that happens. nonetheless, as we said all along, if you're writing in your primary calendar, for the moment, keep the last few entries in pencil because they're not locked up yet. as we get close to the top of the hour now, we have not seen a woman receive a nobel peace prize since 2004. until now. and not just one woman, but would you believe three? really blew up into a controversy last night. republican presidential candidate mitt romney is facing new criticism for being a mormon. nothing new here really. this time it's coming from a pastor a pastor of a mega church in dallas. his name is reverend robert jeffress. he happened to be on hand to introduce rick perry at the conservative value voters summit in washington. he was critical of the mormon church and told our jim acosta and other reporters that mormonism is a cult. >> reporter: you don't mind me saying, you created a bit of a stir coming out of that speech. you said in strong language what you think of mormonism. you described it as a cult. and you said that if republicans vote for mitt romney, they're giving credibility to a cult. do you stand by that? >> absolutely. i think more smr a good moral man but those that are born again followers of christ should always prefer a competent christian to a competent -- to a competent nonchristian like mitt romney. so that's why i'm enthusiastic about rick perry. >> what do you say to the voters that say religion, mormonism shouldn't be an issue in this campaign. he's just as american as everybody else. >> i agree he's just as american as anyone else. and article six of the constitution -- >> and mormons say they are christians. they believe in jesus christ. >> a lot of people say they're christians and they are not. they do not embrace historical christianity. and i believe that as christians we have the duty to prefer and select christians as our leader. that's what the first chief justice of the supreme court said. and, again, i think when we've got a choice as evangelicals between a rick perry and mitt romney, i believe evangelicals need to go with rick perry. >> again this is not a new idea. this is not the first time we heard someone call mormonism as a cult. this certainly is the first time that mitt romney and his political career has come under fire for being a mormon during his last run for the presidency four years ago, he got some of these same questions, even got kind of some nasty responses from potential voters. look at this. >> hello, sir. how are you? >> i'm one one person who will not vote for a mormon. >> is that right? can i shake your hand anyway? >> no! >> a lot of people don't know a whole lot about the mormon church. well let me tell you, the church of jesus christ of latter day saints, the mormon church, was founded by a farmer named joseph smith in the early 1800s. he says an angel guided him to a hill in new york state and there on that hill church doctrine says smith found golden tablets detailing how christ visited an ancient civilization in the americas. smith claimed he saw god and christ in the flesh on a hill in palmyra, new york. he and his followers fled persecution and settled in utah. presidents of the church are considered prophets of god. mormons believe in christ and god and they do consider themselves christians. the pastor, pastor jeffress backing perry says basically americans should not vote for romney because of his mormon faith. all this was happening at the values voter conference. that summit there in washington, d.c. a number of the other candidates were there including mr. herman cain. you know he has been pretty popular here lately, it seems. he's near the top of a number of gop presidential polls. friday at that summit the former talk show host and ceo of godfath godfather's pizza were feeling good about his new found popularity. >> three months ago the pundits, the political pundits said herman cain can't get the nomination. herman cain can't win the presidency because he doesn't have high name id. he doesn't have a kajillion dollars and he never held public office. let me tell you what the american people are saying. they don't care about a kajillion dollars. america wants to raise some cain, not raise more money. he continued to slam the occupy wall street movement calling the protesters capitalists. new details about the white house involvement in the solyndra loan deal. two house panels are looking into why the white house pushed for $535 million in federal loan guarantees for a california solar energy company that the president visited. that company eventually went bankrupt. the loan was approved in 2010. solyndra filed bankruptcy in may of this year. one e-mail is talking about getting the loan approved says the white house is "breathing down my neck on this." the white house, however, has been defending its handling of that loan. this week we saw the death of steve jobs after a battle with cancer. also, a quiet family gathering to say good-bye to steve jobs. "the wall street journal" reporting the funeral for the apple co-founder was held yesterday. the paper quotes an unnamed source who says the service was small, private affair. no details about where it happened, though. jobs, as you know, died wednesday after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. we continue to watch this cantaloupe recall. the number of deaths has gone up now. they're a link to the contaminated cantaloupes. up to 21 now have died of this bacteria. 109 cases of listeria have been reported in 24 states and they're afraid that number will go up. they were traced to jensen farms of colorado. they believe all the cantaloupes are out of stores. they expect the number of incidents to go up of listeria because you could have eaten one of these things months ago and might not feel sick yet. let's turn to new york where the district attorney there in queens says a two-year investigation broken up a $13 million global crime ring. police arrested 86 people in a series of raids that started tuesday. they're looking for 25 more suspects. the da says they used forged credit cards and identity theft. someone's got to stop her from going through with this. >> the fight appears to be over. the fight between 20th century fox and the producers of "the simpsons," both sides appear to have come to an agreement for a 24th and 25th season of "the m simpsons." negotiations stalled over pay for the actors that do the voices for the characters. details were not announced. eight minutes past the hour. let's say hello to reynolds wolf. >> we're sitting here in the weather cube talking about how long the simpsons have been around. >> we have other competitors with "the family guys" of the world and "the cleveland show." fox is still doing all right. >> they're all doing okay. all are doing just fine. switching to weather. one thing that hasn't been doing well is texas. texas has been dry as could be. a lot of the farmers and ranchers suffering. now we're making the jump into fall. with it, we're having heavy rain moving through parts of the lone star state. not only that, but there is also the potential for flooding, possibly widespread flooding in places like lubbock. we'll talk about that in a few minutes. we're also going to talk about your travel weather for this weekend. t.j., back to you. >> thank you kind, sir. we don't know if this will be the year that lebron james can get his first nba title. he might not even get to play in the nba this year. it's not just him, it's all the players because right now it appears that first two weeks of the season going to have to be canceled after they couldn't come to an agreement on a meeting this weekend. who's to blame? we'll get into it in a couple minutes. >> no. >> good. it leads into what i'm talking about. when you neighboring drive on a freeway, you go over a couple places here and you have dry river beds. today those things are going to be full. water is going to be roaring down those things. it's something that ranchers and farmers are hoping for in the lone star state. it's going to be too much too late. >> yeah. >> and too late. growing season is over. let me show you what we're talking about. we have a big line of thunderstorms that extends for over 1,000 miles across parts of the central plains. you're also seeing some yellow boxes that are popping up here and there. at least areas surrounded by the yellow boxes. those are the severe thunderstorm warnings. we could see six or ten inches of rainfall imbedded in these. not just today but going to stretch through saturday and sunday also. the back half, this is much colder air spilling down into the rockies. let's put this together. you have a lot of moisture coming through and freezing conditions. the highest elevations. what that means, you could see anywhere from a foot of snowfall in the highest peaks. back in the ski resorts, the snow is coming down. probably not that perfect powder that's coming later on in the season. you're going to be getting some stuff in this early nice state. in florida, not so much. if you're hoping for a great day to get out and enjoy the parks or beaches, it is a very damp day for you. still nice there if you like any days of beaches. from port orange southward to port pierce, you're seeing the showers. the reason why we're seeing that is because we have an area of oip building up off the eastern seaboard. that is going to keep things tranquil in boston and new york. there is also going to pull a lot of the moist air into places like orlando, even in atlanta. we're not expecting the rain. humidity levels going to start stacking up. you'll feel the difference in the afternoon. salt lake city and los angeles, plenty of sunshine there. high temperatures to the west. fairly comfortable depending on where you happen to be. you don't mind 44 degrees in denver, you're going to be happy. wrapping things up in salt lake city. 68 degrees in san francisco. 63 in seattle. 82 in minneapolis. boston, home of the red sox, 80. that's the high. t.j., you're up to speed. your turn, my friend. thank you. we're going to turn to a little sports here. for you nba fans sh bad news. it looks like the first two weeks of the nba season is going to have to be canceled. a meeting between the nba and its players union scheduled for this weekend to get a deal done is not going to take place. they couldn't agree to the terms of even the meeting to talk about the terms of a deal. you get what we're saying. according to the owners, the players union said we don't want to meet this weekend after the owners issued a bit of an ultimatum saying we're going to split the money 50/50. we're not going to talk about anything else. the players wanted more of a cut of the revenue than 50/50. it had been 53/47 and they were going back and forth. 50/50 not good enough. so here's a statement from tim frank with the nba. he said, "we told the union today we were willing to meet as early as sunday. we were unwilling to move above the 50/50 split of rev revenues between the parties that we discussed on tuesday but we wanted to meet to discuss the many remaining open issues. the union declined." that's it, folks. 50/50 you to might sound like a good deal. in this deal, it's not. the two sides were about 53-47 with the players getting the 53. they were trying to get closer and closer together. owners now want to do it 50/50. players say no way. >> we have a 3-year-old and 5-year-old at home. some of the fights they have in the den over toys make more sense than some of the fights i've seen in professional sports in both the nba and the nfl. it's really sad to say. the fans are the biggest losers of all. >> baseball fans are happy right now. >> what is going on in philadelphia right now? the cardinals beat out the phillies who were actually heavily favored, not just to win the series but to actually win the world series. the cardinals just barely got to the playoffs. but here they are moving on. they'll be taking on milwaukee. milwaukee won a great game in extra innings last night with a walk off run. so national league championship series gets going tomorrow. it was 26 years in the making. finally the chicago bears got their white house visit. this was yesterday. the 1985 champs. all right? what took so long you might be wondering. if you think back to 1985 right after that classic bears team won the super bowl, walter payton, you remember that classic team and coach ditka there. the space shuttle challenger disaster happened just two days after the super bowl. the team was supposed to go to the white house. that trip got canceled. so they never, ever made it up until now. i'm sure it has to do with the current resident of the white house being a chicago guy. >> absolutely. i mean why not?
