At least two members of the Casper City Council are hesitant to award bar and grill licenses to either the Spotlight Lounge or to Wyoming Downs. The city has two available bar and grill licenses and the Casper City Council will hear presentations from both Spotlight Lounge and Wyoming Downs representatives on Tuesday. A third business, Mouthful had previously expressed interest in obtaining one of the available bar and grill licenses, but withdrew its application on Monday.

(Brendan LaChance, Oil City) CASPER, Wyo. The Casper City Council voted in favor of granting a bar and grill license to the Spotlight Lounge on Tuesday, August 3. The council voted 6-1 in favor of the business’s request with Council member Steve Cathey voting no. Council member Amber Pollock abstained from the vote. Council member Khrystyn Lutz was absent. The Spotlight Lounge wants the bar and grill licenses for 128 East Second St., the former location of the Downtown Grill & Venue where they plan to open in the next couple of weeks.
