Known for its signature BBQ, Jones River Tavern opened Dec. 1, 2017, at 6 Pembroke St. with Hamm and Peter Beard as two of the original business partners. They were thriving before the coronavirus pandemic changed business as they knew it. The weight lifted when Hamm learned that the state was granting her request for $60,000 through the COVID-19 Small Business Grant Program. “Like everybody else, I’ve been doing the best that I can,” she said. “I asked for what I needed to survive.” ....
