Pakistan, Uzbekistan agree to acquire leased lands for export cargoes July 20, 2021 LAHORE: Pakistan and Uzbekistan are planning to acquire leased lands on each other s countries, a measure the government says will help boost exports to untapped markets. Abdul Razzak Dawood, advisor to the Prime Minister on commerce and trade said Uzbekistan has asked for 25 acres of land on lease in Karachi or Gwadar to store and ship their cargoes for South East Asian and the Middle Eastern countries. “They want to stock their goods coming from Uzbekistan for onward shipments to different destinations in the Middle East and East Asia, Dawood told businessmen at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI).

LAHORE: Adviser to Prime Minister on Commerce and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood says both Pakistan and Uzbekistan have agreed to reciprocally allocate a piece of land measuring 25 acres soon for each other for trading of their goods to various countries. He says he would take up the issue of section 203-B (grant of powers of arrest to businessmen on suspicion of tax evasion) with the finance minister soon. “We are allocating a piece of land measuring 25 acres for Uzbekistan in Gwadar so that it could trade/export its goods to the countries in the middle-east onward. Reciprocally, Uzbekistan too has pledged to allocate a piece of land at Tashkent for us where our business community can trade its goods to Uzbekistan and Central Asian countries,” Mr Dawood said while speaking here at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) here on Monday.
