Nawaz’s cousin Mian Tariq Shafi dies

LAHORE: Former premier Nawaz Sharif’s cousin and renowned industrialist Mian Muhammad Tariq Shafi died of cardiac arrest here Monday.
He was also the cousin of Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif. PMLN sources said he suffered a heart attack which proved fatal. The deceased was also the brother-in-law of PMLN leader and ex-MNA Sohail Zia Butt. The deceased was director of Ittefaq Group of Companies. PMLN President Shehbaz Sharif has postponed his scheduled visit to Islamabad to attend funeral prayers of his cousin. Traders and industrialists’ bodies also expressed grief over the demise of Tariq Shafi, who worked hard for the cause of business community.

Lahore: Deputy Governor of Namangan Region, Uzbekistan & Head of Uzbek delegation Inamov Okibjon Odiljonovich has invited Pakistani businessmen to visit Uzbekistan and avail benefit from the opportunities through joint ventures with their Uzbek counterparts. He was speaking at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry. The LCCI President Mian Tariq Misbah presented the address of welcome while Vice President Tahir Manzoor Chaudhry also spoke on.

Uzbekistan Namangan Region Deputy Governor Inamov Okibjon Odiljonovich has invited Pakistani businessmen to visit Uzbekistan and take advantage of the opportunities by entering joint ventures with their Uzbek counterparts.
Addressing the business community at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) on Saturday, he said that Uzbekistan was keen to enhance trade relations with Pakistan, as both countries had great potential to cooperate with each other in many areas of economy. He identified pharmaceutical, tourism, agriculture, food processing, automobile, construction, chemicals, oil & gas, mining and electrical & electronics as other potential areas of mutual cooperation.
