Women s role in tourism stressed

LAHORE: Pakistan can boost its tourism industry by encouraging women entrepreneurs to pioneer hospitality startups because they are naturally disposed to it, industry officials said on Saturday.
Views to this effect were voiced during a seminar on âTourism as an Industry for Women Entrepreneursâ at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
Governor Punjabâs wife Begum Parveen Sarwar speaking as chief guest said all segments of society should support women so that they could get a better standard.
Women should be encouraged to take part in trade and economic activities, she said adding that âwomen are an integral part of society and no society can develop without active participation of womenâ.
Technology firm receives President IT Award

LAHORE: A delegation from Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry Senior Vice-President LCCI visited Lahore Dry Port. Chief Transport Manager Jamshed Alam and Divisional Transportation Manager Shahid Raza from Pakistan Railways held business talks with the delegation regarding freight business and also gave a briefing on container train business with Pakistan Railways.
The delegation expressed keen interest in freight business with Pakistan Railways. The delegation also offered to repair its coaches and jets for freight and container business with Pakistan Railways as per the vision of Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Azam Khan Swati.
