Davis police get $25K PPE donation Shares A firm that specializes in putting people to work has made it a little easier for Davis police and other first responders to do their jobs. Human Bees, a staff augmentation company with offices in seven California locations including Davis, donated $25,000 worth of personal protection equipment to the Davis Police Department last week as part of its charitable outreach division, Humane Bees. “We’ve always had a commitment to do more charity work,” said Dr. Geetesh Goyal, Human Bees’ CEO. So when the COVID pandemic struck last year, Human Bees found itself ordering more PPE for the company’s use, then decided to take it a step further ordering additional equipment to benefit the wider Davis community. ....

The wide-ranging destruction caused by the wildfire convinced them that if they were going to prevent a repeat in the future, theyâd have to go big. That fire also destroyed more than 3,700 acres of northern spotted owl habitat, highlighting a lethal hazard faced by the threatened species despite strict logging restrictions imposed on the âlate successional reserveâ stands, or LSR, commonly referred to as old growth forests. âThe team realized that just doing a small area here and there wonât take care of the entire LSR,â said Joseph Bowles, a district silviculturist in the national forest. ....
