Davis police investigate pair of robberies
Davis police are investigating two robberies that occurred last weekend.
The first was reported at 10:20 p.m. Friday, when a male victim said he was approached at Third and K streets by two suspects, one of whom struck him in the head and stole his wallet, Lt. Art Camacho said.
The suspects were described as white male adults wearing jeans and white T-shirts. One also wore a red hat. Both were last seen heading northbound on J Street in a gray four-door sedan.
On Sunday, a woman reported being robbed by a man and woman at her mobile home in the 1000 block of Olive Drive.

A local man faces assault charges after allegedly threatening someone with a knife Sunday evening, Davis police said.
The incident began with a 5:45 p.m. report of a fight in progress in the 200 block of E Street, where one person was said to be armed with a knife, Lt. Art Camacho said.
Officers arrived on scene and detained 52-year-old Kevin Forrest Rose, who according to witnesses “had pulled a pocket knife and made stabbing motions toward the victim,” Camacho said.
Rose was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and booked into the Yolo County Jail.
Davis police get $25K PPE donation

A firm that specializes in putting people to work has made it a little easier for Davis police and other first responders to do their jobs.
Human Bees, a staff augmentation company with offices in seven California locations including Davis, donated $25,000 worth of personal protection equipment to the Davis Police Department last week as part of its charitable outreach division, Humane Bees.
“We’ve always had a commitment to do more charity work,” said Dr. Geetesh Goyal, Human Bees’ CEO.
So when the COVID pandemic struck last year, Human Bees found itself ordering more PPE for the company’s use, then decided to take it a step further ordering additional equipment to benefit the wider Davis community.
