Turners Falls man arraigned on kidnapping, assault charges > Published: 7/29/2021 5:05:07 PM GREENFIELD A Turners Falls man who was arrested after allegedly beating a man for five hours while interrogating him over alleged stolen marijuana pleaded not guilty Thursday and is being held without the right to bail pending an Aug. 6 dangerousness hearing. Miguel D. Russell, 22, was arraigned in Greenfield District Court on charges of assault and battery, assault with a dangerous weapon, kidnapping, intimidation of a witness/juror/police/court official and larceny under $1,200. According to a police report by Montague Police Officer Cody Wells, at 5:27 p.m. on Tuesday, July 27, Wells was dispatched to the F.L. Roberts gas station at 132 Third St. on a call of a young man who used the gas station’s phone to report he had been kidnapped and assaulted. Montague Police Logs: June 18 to June 26, 2021 > Montague, June 18 6:11 a.m. Man calls dispatcher speaking about a police chief in California. 10:58 a.m. Caller states that another vehicle at Family Dollar on Avenue A hit her vehicle and then the driver got out and walked away. 11:34 a.m. Walgreens employee reporting the pharmacy received a fraudulent prescription via fax. The Walgreens in Greenfield also received one from the same person for the same prescription. Officer Nathan Pervere will follow up with a detective. Employee reporting a man just came in and tried to pick up the fake prescription. When asked for ID, the man turned and walked away. He got into the passenger side of a smaller white Honda sedan with New York plates and headed north on Avenue A. BOLO given to Shelburne Control.
