Is ktvu fox two news at 730. Good evening. Im claudine wong. And we begin tonight with developing news in san francisco. That is where officers are investigating a police shooting. It happened near laguna street and geary boulevard. Police say it all started when a vehicle crashed into the chinese consulate shortly after three this afternoon. Police say officers arrived and found the vehicle inside the lobby of the visa office and made contact with the driver. Thats when shots were fired. But police have not said specifically what led up to that shooting. Police tell us the suspect was taken to the hospital and was pronounced dead. This is a unique investigation because it did happen inside the lobby of the chinese consulate. So theres a number of agencies and jurisdiction that are involved. So many of our laws today are directed at people we dont like or metadata, not people we are afraid of. I used to practice law years and years ago. When i was in law school taking my criminal justice, or rather i criminal law required for graduation i was taught to things. What is a crime . Thats the first question we have to answer in class. I suspect most of the people in this room may not know what a crime is. But i was taught that a crime is what the statute says is a crime. Thats not true today. There are lots and lots of things that are crimes that have nothing to do with statues. The second thing i was taught in law school, which i fancy pants law school where we are supposed to know everything.
