Tue, 05/25/2021 - 3:55pm tim Vermont State Police On May 25, 2021 at approximately 0300 hours, the Corinth Fire Department responded to a report of a residential fire at 642 Camp Munn Road, Corinth, VT. Upon arrival the residence was observed to be fully involved, and it was learned from two of the residents that there was one occupant still inside. Due to the intensity and size of the fire, members of the fire department were unable to enter the residence. When the fire was extinguished, the unaccounted-for occupant was found deceased inside the residence. Members of the Vermont State Police Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit conducted an investigation into the cause and origin of the fire and determined that the fire was not suspicious in nature. The fire started on the front porch in the area of a can used for discarded smoking materials. ....
NEWPORT The Vermont State Police recently announced that Teresa Randall, a native of West Burke, has become the third woman to be promoted to captain. Capt. Randall’s promotion to captain/Staff Operations Commander, was effective May 9, 2021. She succeeds Kevin Lane, who was promoted to major/Support Services Division Commander earlier this spring. Capt. Randall has served the people of Vermont for more than 18 years. She began her state police career in 2003 and was assigned as a trooper to the St. Johnsbury Barracks following her graduation from the Vermont Police Academy. She transferred to the position of detective trooper with the Narcotics Investigation Unit in 2008 and served until 2011 when she joined the Executive Protection Unit. ....
Thu, 03/04/2021 - 11:01am tim Vermont State Police Following an investigation that began in December 2020, the Vermont State Police has cited Nicholas Cianci, 25, of Bradford on suspicion of physically assaulting and threatening a woman with whom he was in a relationship. Cianci is a detective trooper with the Vermont State Police assigned to the Bureau of Criminal Investigations-Troop A East based at the St. Johnsbury Barracks. He has been on paid relief from duty since December 7, 2020. He had been on paid relief from duty since December 7, 2020. His current status as of March 3 is unpaid relief from duty while the investigation continues. ....
