CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson guard Gabby Elliott has accepted an invitation to participate in the 2021 USA Women’s U19 World Cup Team Trials. A total of 27 players will be at the trials, which will be held May 14-16 at Metro State University in Denver, Colo., where the 12-member team will be chosen. Featuring U19 teams from 16 nations, the 2021 FIBA U19 World Cup is scheduled to be held Aug. 7-15 in Debrecen, Hungary. In addition to the USA and host Hungary, teams that will take part in this summer’s U19 World Cup include Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Egypt, France, Italy, Japan, Mali, Russia, South Korea and Spain. ....

Clemson, S.C. – The 2020-21 season continues for Clemson women’s basketball, as the Tigers were selected for the 2021 WNIT, it was announced on Monday night. Clemson will take on Ohio on Friday afternoon at 2:00 PM in the second game of the Charlotte regional. The Tigers received an at-large berth into the WNIT after posting an 11-13 overall record and earning a spot in the ACC Quarterfinals. The Tigers, currently 64 th in the NET rankings, earned wins over NCAA Tournament participants Florida State, Syracuse, Wake Forest and Mercer en route to their WNIT appearance. Second team All-ACC performer Delicia Washington leads the Tigers into the postseason, averaging 15.7 points, 5.9 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game. All-ACC Freshman Team member Gabby Elliott is second on the team in scoring at 13.3 points per game and sharpshooter Kendall Spray leads the Tigers from beyond the arc with 64 made threes on the year. ....
GREENSBORO, N.C. A 3-pointer from Weronika Hipp was off the mark as the final buzzer sounded, and Clemson came up short to Georgia Tech in the quarterfinals of the ACC Tournament on Friday. After Destiny Thomas tallied a clutch steal with 16 seconds remaining, the Tigers had an opportunity to tie the Yellow Jackets on the final possession, but Clemson ultimately fell 60-57 at the Greensboro Coliseum. The Tigers (11-13) shot 40.7 percent from the floor, and the Yellow Jackets (15-7) accrued a field goal percentage of 46.3. Clemson made three shots from beyond the arc and corralled 32 rebounds, while Georgia Tech was successful on seven 3-point attempts and secured 34 boards. Defensively, the Tigers forced 15 turnovers, thanks in large part to their 12 steals. Also of note, Clemson scored 30 points in the paint and outscored Georgia Tech 12-0 in bench points. ....
