No 42 Notre Dame Survives Tigers

CLEMSON, S.C. The Tigers (7-13, 1-10 ACC) fell in a hard-fought 4-3 decision on Sunday afternoon to No. 42 Notre Dame (13-8, 6-4 ACC). After winning the doubles point, the Fighting Irish went on to win the first singles matchup, giving themselves an early 2-0 lead. The Tigers surged back as Spencer Whitaker picked up a victory at No. 6, 6-3, 6-4, and Teodor Giusca took line four, 6-4, 6-0, to tie the match at two-all. However, consecutive losses on Courts 1 and 4 clinched the Notre Dame victory. Jorge Plans Gonzalez finished shortly after the clinch, winning, 6-2, 2-6, 6-3 at No. 5.

Clemson Downs South Carolina In Top-Ranked Match, Bornkamp Nets Brace COLUMBIA, S.C. – The No. 8/11 Clemson women’s soccer team picked up their 12th win of the season as they downed in-state rival No. 11/9 South Carolina 2-1 at Stone Stadium on Saturday night. It marks the second consecutive year that the Tigers have defeated the Gamecocks after taking the 2019 match by a 1-0 margin and just the third time in the all-time series they have gone consecutive years with wins over South Carolina. Clemson moves to 12-4-0 on the season as South Carolina falls to 10-4-0. “It’s a great result for having two highly-ranked teams play each other,” said Head Coach Eddie Radwanski. “What a great response from our kids – they went out there and did it with an incredible second half. To come down here and beat them on their field to cap off an undefeated spring is special.”

Hannah Garners ACC Postseason Honors

CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson freshman outside hitter Camryn Hannah (Lansing, Ill./Marist HS) has been named a 2020 Second Team All-ACC recipient in addition to earning ACC All-Freshman honors, the conference office announced Monday. Hannah became the third player under the direction of Clemson Head Coach Michaela Franklin to garner All-ACC accolades as well as the third freshman under the guidance of Franklin to earn ACC All-Freshman honors. Hannah led all league freshmen during the ACC regular season in kills (306) and kills per set (3.97), which were good for second and fifth, respectively, in the conference overall. Hannah’s 306 kills were also good for second in the nation among all freshmen, while her kills-per-set average was good for 10
