A program-record and ACC-leading nine Tigers earned All-ACC Academic Team recognition for their performance both in the classroom and on the court, it was announced today by Commissioner Jim Phillips.Academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0-grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one’s academic career. In addition, student-athletes must compete in at least 50 percent of their team’s contests.Amari Robinson picked up the honor for the fourth-consecutive year, while Hannah Hank garnered her third honor. Joining them on the All-ACC Academic Team are Daisha Bradford, Ale'Jah Douglas, MaKayla Elmore, Kionna Gaines, Madi Ott, Brie Perpignan, and Ruby Whitehorn.Pitt and Syracuse placed eight on the All-ACC Academic Team. Duke, Florida State, Louisville and Notre Dame had seven apiece. The team features 86 student-athletes, with at least one from each of the ACC’s 15 programs.
CLEMSON, S.C. - Senior Daisha Bradford sank a jumper with 21 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter to spur the Clemson women’s basketball team to a 56-55 victory against Auburn in the Second Round of the Women’s National Invitational Tournament inside Littlejohn Coliseum on Monday evening. With the victory, Clemson (19-15) advances to the WNIT Super 16 for the first time in program history. The Clemson offense was led by freshman Ruby Whitehorn tallying 16 points after going 6-for-9 from the floor with three free throws. She was joined in double figures by Bradford, who went 5-for-9 from the floor, including two beyond the arc and the game-winner. Eno Inyang joined with nine points and four rebounds, while senior Hannah Hank led CU with 11 boards and five assists. Clemson, S.C. – The 2022-23 season continues for Clemson women’s basketball, as the Tigers were selected for the 2023 Women’s National Invitational Tournament (WNIT), it was announced on Sunday evening. Clemson will find out its opponent and game site on Monday. The Tigers received an at-large berth into the WNIT after posting a 17-14 overall record and 7-11 record in the ACC. The Tigers, currently 58th in the NET rankings, earned wins over NCAA Tournament participants Florida State, Gardner-Webb, and ACC Tournament Champion and NCAA no. 1-seed Virginia Tech en route to their WNIT appearance. Second-team All-ACC performer Amari Robinson leads the Tigers into the postseason, averaging 13.7 points and 6.3 rebounds per game.
