Near the top of Anarchist Mountain is Osoyoos Mountain Estates, a residential development accessed by a number of roads branching off of Highway 3. The development roads are named after local wildlife, such as Bighorn Estates, Raven Hill estates, etc. They are easily identified by life-like statues of bighorn sheep, cougar, mule deer, bull moose, etc., located at the intersections of the subdivision roads and Highway 3. One neighbourhood is named after a well-known but more mythical creature - Sasquatch Trail. ....
On January 23 rd of this year, a potential Bigfoot sighting occurred just south of Garberville, California, on highway 101. A man named Rick Bates made the sighting between Benbow Inn and Richardson Grove. In his report explaining his sighting, Mr. Bates wrote in part, “The road makes a few turns and the speed limit drops in the area. As I rounded a sweeping right hand turn I saw a figure on the south bound shoulder of the highway. I was the only vehicle in the area about 8:15 PM. My speed was about 45-50 MPH as I passed the figure.” He went on to describe the creature, “The figure was laying on the shoulder of the road on its right side. I estimated the height to be about 7’. I was looking at the creature’s back and noticed it had broad shoulders and was thick torso shape. While the shape [was] similar to a human it was not human. It was not a bear either. I could see muscular features in its glutes and a head on the shoulders that was somewhat tapered towar ....
“I was so relieved to read that state Rep. Justin Humphrey clarified the intent of his legislation by saying, “I want to be really clear that we are not going to kill Bigfoot. We are going to trap a live Bigfoot.” However, he didn’t say what they are going to do with a live Bigfoot. I assume that Bigfoot will then be brought to the state Capitol. My question: Will Bigfoot have to run for the position of state representative or will he automatically become a state representative?” You know your proposed legislative bill is doing what you intended it to do when you start getting positive comments on the editorial pages – even if they’re tinged with a little sarcasm. For Oklahoma state Rep. Justin Humphrey to read that Letter to the Editor of Tulsa World, it was probably a welcome respite from the negative publicity he’s been receiving after submitting House Bill 1648 proposing the establishment of an official Bigfoot hunting season in Oklahoma, complete with lice ....
