Barry Sonnenfeld‘s most popular films tend to be his genre franchise starters, think The Addams Family (1991) and Men in Black (1997), but for my money his best feature remains 1995’s Get Shorty. Elmore Leonard’s fiction has been adapted into plenty of fine films, but this Hollywood adventure captures the man’s voice better than most.
